Congrats!! Do you have a name picked out?

I did 2 baby storytimes this morning. I told the moms that I was pregnant since I'm still dealing with a little of the MS and I'll be really showing soon anyway. It was so fun to tell a bunch of people again. It's been so long since I've gotten to do that and have these people I don't know be so excited for me and form an instant sisterhood bond.

Makes me happy to be a woman for once. I'm getting all choked up. lol :sad1:

It is always a great feeling to tell someone (or several at a time in your case! :thumbsup2 ) and they get so excited! It gets me all excited all over again! And of course women seem to get a lot more excited than men!

This second pregnancy didn't start out as exciting as my first, I guess because its my second and its "been there done that" sort of thing but once I knew the sex, its been a whole new ball game!

I really hope you start to feel better soon.

:thumbsup2 I really am doing better.

I'm going on 5 vomit free days. :faint: If I make it a week, I'll be very happy.:thumbsup2 And then I can be the happy pregnant lady and not the complaining, sick one.

my ... you guys have been chatty ... not sure I can catch up on all this reading btwn nursing my VERY hungry little girl!:goodvibes

ok...the labor story..

had to tell you all ... i didnt believe i was in labor b/c i had been having contractions for a week or so... so i invited a friend over to make bath salts, body scrubs and milk baths w/ me. so we were working away and i kept stopping... making her stir... and she caught me watching the clock. she asked if we should start timing and I said they were three minutes apart. you have never seen someone start putting lids and seals on jars so fast:rotfl: i was so like, it'll take forever, relax!!! so she jumped up and cleaned the kitchen and asked me to call brian...so then I had the bloody show and figured ok, we can call now.

he came home all freaked out at about noon...and was so mad that I wanted to change the sheets on our bed so my SIL could sleep in our room, and do all these other little things...then i begged to stop for lunch (he refused me). so we go to the hospital and i could not stop laughing b/c I just figured this will take forever will everyone calm down?:cool1:
told the lady to put the wheelchair away, that I was fine to walk up to L&D ... so we got up there and they said "can we help you" ? my DH almost busted a nut:lmao: he said we are having a baby, her contractions are now 2 minutes apart...yes. put her in a room!!!!! they said they didnt think i was really in labor b/c i was laughing.
so ... they did and I was 3 cm at 1:00 ... 7 cm at 3:00 and had Tessa at 4:11...the LPN working was also a MASSAGE THERAPIST...she got off work as a nurse at 3, then volunteered to stay on her own time for the rest of my labor and do pain management..I have to tell you this...
she is the reason my delivery went so great.
she turned the baby when she was wrong side up.
she moved my hips and somehow made the pain just go away.
she broke my water w/ massage
she showed brian things to keep me calm.
I only had one shot of some iv medication at 3:00 and that was it.
I swear she is an angel.
I would highly recommend anyone who can afford it to hire someone to come in to play that role during labor. omigosh. it was amazing. i think doulas, or other people can play the same role...
if we were having more, I would eat rice for a year to afford to have someone do this again. I cannot stress what a surprise it was that it could make that much of a difference.
i told them to get the nurses who were not busy and let them come in and learn ... so they did... I could hear her telling them what she was doing and why... I hope they can help other people.
It was so cool
The OB who delivered was young and fun and kind.
She thanked us at the end...said it was fun for her staff to labor w/ someone, and that its rare b/c they do so many epis.
other new thing was a bar they snapped to the bed that I could pull down on...this worked great as a place to direct any pain...
anyway...gotta go eat while I can...just wanted to share this b/c it made all the difference for us!!!
also, I felt really good aftwards. tessa is very sweet natured. the nurse in postpartum said she was going to write in our chart that we had no postpartum blues, just postpartum giggles!!
I hope you all have a great experience too!!!

What a great story!! Thanks so much for taking the time from your extremely busy day to share it with us.

If only we could all deliver like that!

I'm so glad your nurse was awesome! I hope she can pass on her knowledge to help other ladies in labor. :thumbsup2

What a great story!! Im so glad everything went so well for you. :cool1:

Great labor story!!! Thanks for posting, so happy all went better than well:thumbsup2

Sarah, glad you seem to be over the M/S.

We went to the OB today for a regular check-up. The baby's heartbeat was 158. I gained 1 lb... which I knew because of my M/S subsiding. Everything else was great. My next appointment is March 3. I have to have the next diabetic screen then, which I hope I pass because I do not want to go through that 3 hour one again.

It's so funny, of all the things to fixate on and get upset about, when we first found out I was pregnant the one thing I kept telling DH over and over again was "I canNOT do that gestational diabetes test again, I just can't."

I'm glad everything looks good so far. I'm on puke-free day 2, but I am a few days behind Sarah, so hopefully I will continue to follow right behind her.

Oh, geesh. Just alienate me why don't you? :rotfl2:
My whole office has daughters, too. I'm being voted off the island everywhere! :lmao:
I read in "What to Expect when You're Expecting" that they've done studies that women expecting boys tend to eat more... so I threw that in their faces as to why my station is covered in food and none of them could say a thing because they all have GIRLS! :thumbsup2

Ann (Disney Ron, your name is Ann right? or Anne? I've got pregnancy brain... :wave2: )

I got the orange yuck today but they gave me a bottle to take home and told me to drink it on March 10th and pop by the hospital lab, tell them I was on a timed test and have my blood drawn an hour after I drank it. (I get to tell them when to draw my blood, talk about cutting down on my wait time!)
I also have to get my Rhogam shot that day. She said they'd run the bloodwork and call me to go back to get it. I know it's common but I don't like the idea of two needles in one day. :crazy2:

I'll be third trimester! Oh my goodness! :faint:

I got two thumbs up today for only gaining 7lbs so far. At least I'm doing something right. :p

I forgot to mention, I asked my Dr. about getting my tubes tried after delivery. She said if I have a C-section they would do it right then and there. If I have a ******l delivery (which I hope) then they would do the procedure the morning after my delivery. :cool1: I just have to sign a consent form. I was very please to hear it could all be done this hospital stay!

Here's hoping we're on the same schedule. And that we stay on it! :thumbsup2

Piecy--that is so cool about the GD test! I wish my office did that.

Yes, you got it right...Ann. You are so lucky they let you take the drink with you. My office will not let you leave there waiting room after you drink it until they draw your blood.

Wow, I didn't realize it was out of the norm to take it with me?

She just said nothing in my mouth after I drink it, but I should eat a light lunch before I do.. otherwise the next hour will seem like an eternity. Then to pop by the hospital, tell them when I drank it and get them to draw my blood at that time.
Woohoo for convenience!

Sorry you guys are stuck in your waiting rooms! Ick.

I should prolly tell DH it's not a new type of soda. :rotfl:

I always take the lemon-lime option. The orange one frightens me!!
I tell my DH that it tastes like really flat bad sprite.

princess: Congratulations on your little girl! How exciting!

Thanks everyone! We are just sooo happy!!!princess:

Piecey- Look at it this way, your little son will be surrounded by girls. He will feel like a stud!:thumbsup2

bkreitzel- What a great story. I am going to look into the massage thing. I will take any help I can get.
