Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Okay.. Now.. I dont want to come off as ungrateful. BUT.. We had a visit from my hideous MIL today.

I can relate to hideous MIL stories :lmao: . Mine doesn't even know we are pregnant and due to her own actions has never tried to meet our DS(2).
Sometimes I think I am better off, than having to deal with her interfering like you. Just breathe!

I can relate, too..

My MIL called DH to tell him happy birthday yesterday. (His birthday is tomorrow) and to let him know if he came into town (she lives an hour away) to get the birthday money his grandma left him, she gambled it so it's not there. :rotfl:

DH said "Well, Patsy with the surgeon tomorrow." she goes "She can't have that surgery while she's pregnant with my grandson" and on and on and on about the "rocks" in my head.

...I am overjoyed this woman lives an hour away and doesn't drive!

.... I took a personal day Feb. 18th to go to Toys R US and do my registry with my friend. So excited!

Registering is sooooooooo much fun!
Can I make one suggestion?.... if you plan on having more than one child get the larger items in neutral colors. (stroller, pack & play, highchair, bouncer, swing, etc) So next time if you have a diff. sex you can use them.

Have fun shopping.

I had my 34 week appt today. Apparently I am measuring about 4 weeks behind and haven't gained weight in 2 weeks. My midwife did an internal exam and lo and behold- there was the baby's head. My little girl has apparently dropped already! She said this could effect the measurements but is sending me for a growth scan next week just to be sure.

Has anyone else measured small in their past/current pregnancies? I am trying not to psych myself out. She said she is NOT concerned several times!

She is just ignorant. She lives wiht my BIL, and he is CRAZY.. a total crackpot. Believes al the conspiracy stuff he reads on the internet and such. Really.. He is a nut! Like... should be living in a compound in the woods nut. Anyhow.. he tells her, and she believes him. So they are just two nutcases bobbing along together.

Nice. Doesnt it make you wonder how such crackpots raised the men that we married?? Seriously! I ask my husband all the time.. How did you turn out so normal?? Your family is NUTS!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:grouphug: Im sure its fine! If it makes you feel any better.. Im not gaining weight either. I can also see how having the baby drop would effect measurement. With the head being so much lower, that would bring down the measurement a lot.

Hmmm.. I never thought of it like that.

I got that Fisher Price Rainforest swing clearanced out at WalMart last week. I think it's pretty neutral. (Poking around on babiesrus.com looks like they're replacing it with a "planet" line that I don't like AT ALL. I might have to go buy the pieces I want in case they're gone by the time my shower hits..:scared: )

I'm keeping an eye on this car seat: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3330193 and waiting for some reviews, but I think it's neutral, too...

The stroller we picked out is a Jeep. I forget which one it is, haha. But it's pretty neutral, too.

I'll have to look into pack-n-plays, but I'm limited to whatever is "in store".. I told Mom I don't feel comfortable registering for a ton of the big stuff but with TRU doing that 10% off stuff not bought on your registry, I'll put the carseat, pack-n-play and stroller on there.
I'll probably add a few things online that my Aunts in other areas might order/go to an actual Babies R Us to get, but I'm trying to stick to stuff in the store!

Great choices for neutrals and I love that carseat.

Another thought if you are going to get a diaper pail...the 'diaper champ' uses any bags, where if you get the 'diaper genie' you need to have there refills.

Just food for thought, tell me to mind my own business:goodvibes

Nope, it's appreciated.

I need to start deciding this stuff, mom is doing my shower April 11 and when people start taking vacations and school picks up, I'll be looking for time.
Right now, I've got it. Good to do my research, bookmark my pages and get it done!

I was just looking at our list. 14 girls and 12 boys. It is neat to watch. I found myself looking at the list trying to figure out my odds of where I would fall. I love coming on and finding out what everyone is having.

Have name choices been discussed on here lately????
We have decided on Emma Sophie.

We cant decide on middle names. I think we are going with Jasmine Marie for the girl.. And Vincent SOMETHING for the boy.

I think when I find out I was getting my boy, I evened it back up to 50/50 boy and girl.. Pretty cool, I thought. A couple times I've noticed it being even...

Oh. I LOVE that name! :lovestruc How pretty!

I pretty much knew I wanted Lucas from the very beginning, day 1 we knew I was pregnant. It was originally going to be Lucas Aaron BUT BIL threw a fit (there are two family names- Thomas and Aaron. BIL is Joseph Aaron, DH is Thomas. I didn't want to pull the Thomas foreward, so DH suggested we take the Aaron)
BIL said we can't have it because it's HIS name.

So he will be Lucas James.. James after my brother! :thumbsup2
I just found out today, too, that my brother got a job back HERE and plans to be moved back here by June, when he's due! (He lives in Orlando and I'll be bummed to lose the excuse to visit but overjoyed to have my brother close by again!!)

He wanted to wait to tell me until when he was positive, but mom let it slip today!

I love the name Lucas James, I think I told you before DS is Luke James!
That is wonderful about your DB.

Yep, you did! They go together well. I like it. Told my bro and he said "James is a good, strong name"
dork! :rotfl:

I LOVE the name Vincent, too. I can see how it would be hard to find the right middle name with it, though
I have a cousin named Jasmine but I don't have any idea what her middle name is. It's a very pretty name!

What a pretty name! :goodvibes

I already have my names pinned down. If it's a girl she'll be Allison Claire and if it's a boy he'll be Jacob Ryan :)

Great minds think alike!! We are having a girl- her name will be Allison Catherine. Our boys name was Jacob! What a coincidence!

Hello, I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I'm Melissa and I am pregnant with baby#1. I am about 8 weeks and hope the next 4 weeks pass by super fast so we can be "in the safe zone". :wave2:
