Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

I had my 34 week appt today. Apparently I am measuring about 4 weeks behind and haven't gained weight in 2 weeks. My midwife did an internal exam and lo and behold- there was the baby's head. My little girl has apparently dropped already! She said this could effect the measurements but is sending me for a growth scan next week just to be sure.

Has anyone else measured small in their past/current pregnancies? I am trying not to psych myself out. She said she is NOT concerned several times!

I don't know if I'm measuring ahead or behind or what, but I haven't gained any weight in the last two weeks. I only gained 2 pounds between 12/22 and 1/13. (My 31- and 34-week doc visits.) Non-pregnant ladies gain more than that over the holidays! You might just be leveling off a bit. I seemed to have a weight spike in November-December.

I'm sure the dropping affects the measurements. They don't grow much longer at this point, just fatter. Maybe she's stealing some pudge from you! I know I already have more than enough fat for this baby to put on her cheeks (both kinds)!

Welcome! I understand how you feel; I was very nervous until my 11 week ultrasound. Now that I'm just about full-term, I'm nervous about the birth!

I was just looking at our list. 14 girls and 12 boys. It is neat to watch. I found myself looking at the list trying to figure out my odds of where I would fall. I love coming on and finding out what everyone is having.

Have name choices been discussed on here lately????
We have decided on Emma Sophie.

I've always wanted to name a boy after my Dad, James. We can't come up with a girls' name to save our lives, but our daughters like Sierra. I think we will get more serious about names when we know what we are having. (Still 7 long weeks away from now. Sigh.)

Great minds think alike!! We are having a girl- her name will be Allison Catherine. Our boys name was Jacob! What a coincidence!

I like Allison Catherine I have always liked the name Jacob and I knew if I ever had a son that's what I would want to name him. I know it's a really popular name but I don't care, cause I like it

I love classic names. I think it's almost like going against the grain nowadays. There's so many unusual names out there, especially with all the celebrities competing over who can give their kid the weirdest name I just wanted something classic and traditional.

You have no idea what a sacrifice it was! I was having such good contractions...I really thought it would help. Poor DH, after it was over, I was like..."That had better be the last time for 6 weeks!". Not really the warm fuzzy's he was probably expecting!

Okay, on to the current taboo topic ya'll have been discussing, has anyone experienced raging hormones during their pregnancy where they just "can't get enough"? DH has been hoping that I would have raging hormones, but so far, nope, nada, zip!!

I did... in the beginning of my second trimester. But I got so BIG, so FAST.. It was just to much work for us! We were both breaking a sweat, and not in a good way!

Unfortunately for me (or should I say DH), the only time I really wanted to was when we were on restriction and weren't allowed. Figures.


Wish I could want it that bad right now...maybe it really could bring on labor that way.
