Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Hi everybody!

I found out last night that DH and I are expecting our second child in August. We already have a five-year-old daughter and we're kind of nervous about starting the "baby" stage all over! Even though we were TTC, it's still nerve-wracking when you see that BFP. :lmao:

:cheer2: Congrats!!!! I KWIM about starting over, my youngest is 6!

3 boys, oh my, I'm in trouble

:woohoo: :woohoo: I love boys!! How FUN!! I so wanted two boys with this pregnancy. My DD is such a princess that I worried that any more girls would just make her SO jealous. At least.. I thought I wanted two boys.. But when we found out it was a boy and a girl, I cried I was so happy. Hormones.. What can you do?

I think boy/girl twins are so wonderful and unique~ :thumbsup2

I went shopping for maternity clothes... oh my goodness, how did I survive without that comfort?!

So... I had another ultrasound today. I found out why I got my appetite back. The babies have both turned sideways. The boy is on top of the girl, and their heads are on my left side, but down towards my hips.. Their feet are on my right side, up by my ribs. SO UNCOMFORTABLE!:lmao: Makes sense why one side of my belly is really hard, and the other isnt.

Oh.. and I guess the girl has a big head and short legs, and the boy has a little head with long legs. Even the Dr. was giggling.. One big headed-short legged baby, and one little headed long legged baby. :lmao: Everything looks GREAT so far!

She told me no more boom-boom now.. Seriously, Im huge. It wasnt really an issue anymore. :lmao: no more going out anywhere I have to walk around.. no more doing anything that gives me contractions. Which is.. EVERYTHING. Talk about feeling useless.

How was Maui? Did you get to do any whale watching?

Maui was wonderul, we didn't see any whales but others did. One of the inlets near the hotel is where they like to come into this time of the year, I guess they could see them from the road.

We saw (and swam with) tons of turtles, that was different for me. I'm from NE, so I have seen up close, my share of whales. We, also, went to alaska in september and everytime we turned around, there was an eagle on a piece of ice floating in the water or a whale. I love nature!

Oh, man.. Staley! That is so awesome!!
There were two fraternal twin girls at my high school- one was really short and skinny with brown hair, brown eyes and her sister was really tall, athletic built with blonde hair and hazel eyes. They were extra unique becase they were "twins" but people didn't drive them nuts about it because you only knew if you knew them.

I get my ultrasound in January.. my lone ultrasound. I think I get to schedule it tomorrow at my next appointment.

Twins are so exciting!

Ack! Not my favorite book. The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy is way better.

It's funny, I read all of those books before I got pregnant, but now that I am, I can barely stand to look at them. :confused3

I know what you mean. I can't force myself to read that stuff but DH is all about it. I just find that since pregnancies are so unique, what they are saying doesn't really apply to me. Or else I read something and start to think that I'm experiencing what they insist on even when I'm not. I found it best just to ask my doc if I have any questions. I see her plenty so it hasn't been a problem.

Mr. And Mrs. Smith--

How was the ultrasound?? :)

The ultrasound was pretty amazing! Everything checks out. We are due exactly when we calculated according to the baby's measurements. They got really clear images of everything and the technician said it took less time than a typical ultrasound because everything was so clear.

There is lots of movement, which she said was a very good sign. The baby wouldn't stay still. His/her little legs were just a kicking. It looked like she/he was doing a jig!

DH and I thought it was pretty cool to see the spine as well as the little feet and hands. He/she yawned during the ultrasound which was neat to see. She/he also appeared to wave. lol

The only trouble was getting images of the face because he/she kept putting his/her hands over his/her face.

And DH was such a sweetheart. He drank the same amount of water I had to drink ahead of time and held it with me.

I will say, this makes it so much more real. The next time I see the little bumpkins will be in the delivery room!

 Awww! What a sweetheart!

Congrats!! Are you feeling better about not feeling him/her moving now? Sounds like once you do, you'll be feeling it a lot!

Yes A LOT better! She said that's not abnormal at all. He/she certainly is moving, though, and that's the main thing. :thumbsup2

I had my first appointment today! :cloud9: To early to hear heartbeat but what a great picture we got. Our doctor commented about how much he/ she was moving. DH said it looks like we are going to have another little dancer just like DS. :cloud9: I feel so good after seeing the picture.

I had my diabetes screening today and have to go back next tuesday for an ultrasound to determine the baby's due date because the Dr. thought I was measuring a bit bigger.

I did get sick after I got home but I think it was the fluid I had to drink for the test. Feeling better now. I also got a flu shot.

I hope everyone else is having a good day.
