Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Sorry you can't keep stuff down or eat, guys
I'll stop my fingers now. My doctor told me Thursday I should consider myself truly blessed to be having such an easy time of it and I guess I should listen better.

I'm off to the Bahamas tomorrow- I hope everyone has a great week growing babies! :goodvibes

Oh Ladies...I am envious of people who are not gaining weight! With this baby I blimped out soooooooooo fast, I think I was not even wearing my wedding ring by month 2!!!

We have about 5-6 weeks left and I am HUGE. Last month I had already surpassed the weight I was when I delivered last time ... I have been sooooooooooo hungry this entire pregnancy it is frightening!!! It was actually the only thing to STOP the nausea ... if I ate, I felt better!! Weird!

At 5 feet tall, I am fairly confident that I am now bigger around than I am tall!

I am so excited for all of you just starting out w/ your first babies...being a Mom is so much fun!!

Have a great weekend!!

Me too! :lmao:

I hope you have a great trip! My next trip anywhere will be in 2010, with the new little one in tow.

I made it fine last night. I went to the Madrigal Feast, an interactive dinner show our choir does. They dress in medieval costumes, and thy talk in accents. They come around to the tables during the show. All of my students came by several times to check on me-they know how sick I've been! I had a really good time, and so did dd9. Ds11 and dh didn't come-not their kind of thing! But it was nice to keep TWO meals down yesterday!

Wow, that sounds like a really cool dinner! I would have liked something like that !!
Our next trip, we've decided, won't be until 2012! :scared1: (Of course, with my brother living in Orlando I can probably sneak in a "visit" hehe)
We're crossing our fingers, saving our pennies and hoping to be onboard the inaugural cruise of the new DCL ship that year.
I gotta make this trip count!!!!
Toodles everyone!!

(I forgot to take pictures off my camera and how could I not pitstop on the DIS? :rotfl: )

You guys were busy yesterday!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who can barely keep anything down. I've been taking the Zofran sparingly so that it gets me through my WDW trip (I leave tomorrow! Ack!), but after I get back, I'm going to just deal with the sickness unless I can't keep anything down for more than 24 hours.

I see a bunch of you are well into the second trimester and still sick. I don't know how you do it--or how I will.

Hi ladies! I am a newbie to this thread. I just found out this last week that I am expecting my first child. I am such a huge mix of emotion right now and sometimes I get so overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the father of my baby has decided he has no interest in being a part of our lives which makes my situation a bit harder. Thankfully, I am moving back in with my parents and they are being super supportive of me. I had planned on going back to school in the fall so they are going to help me out with that when the time comes too. I feel scared but happy at the same time. I am the same age my mom was when she had me (22---going to turn 23 in March) so it's not like I am super young or anything. But being that it's my first kid and the dad is out of the picture...well I am just really trying to take it all in still. Anyway, I have been looking all over the internet for different support groups and stuff but then it occurred to be that maybe the DIS would have some kind of place for new moms. And sure enough, it does :goodvibes It will be nice to have a place to come to talk about everything I am going through, especially since none of my friends can really relate.

 Looks like we are almost exactly at the same due date! :woohoo:

If you want a buddy or need to vent about anything that you might not want to post to all of us, please feel free to email me. triple_s@hotmail.com

So how are you feeling? I have pretty bad morning sickness and I've just started getting REALLY tired. I had my first ultrasound last week and I saw the little heart pulsing, even at only 6 weeks! It was amazing!

If you want a book to read that isn't too clinical, try The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy, your local library should have a copy. It's funny and honest, but not scary like some books are.

When I was 21, I was engaged to this guy. I found out I was pregnant and he was out the door before I could blink. I know it can be lonely going through it by yourself...if you ever need to talk, I'm here. I wish I had something like this when I went through it.:goodvibes

Welcome to the thread!!! :grouphug:

Thanks for the welcome :goodvibes

Well the whole reason I thought I was pregnant to begin with was because I was getting morning sickness. I usually can't eat anything really early in the morning, it just makes me gag. And if I eat in the afternoon I seem to always get sick then too. Dinnertime seems to be the only time I can eat without getting sick. My mom says I should try eating smaller more frequent meals throughout the day and that might help.

I will definitely check out that book, it sounds really helpful. One of the ladies at work recommended Jenny McCarthy's book "Belly Laughs". Anyone here read it?

Anyway, thanks again for the welcome! It's really appreciated and it's so nice to know that I have somewhere to come to talk about all of this now :goodvibes

I'm so glad this is here. It is lonely, you're right. But this makes it a lot better and I don't feel quite so alone :goodvibes

Ha! We're the opposite. I'm okay in the morning and early afternoon, but I can't keep anything down after about 4pm. The small meal thing does help sometimes.

I have read Belly Laughs. I didn't love it, but it's short and funny sometimes. It doesn't have a ton of actual useful info, it's more of a pleasure read--which there's nothing wrong with. (I'm a librarian, so I tend to read everything I can get a hold of!--which is quite a lot!)

I'm hoping for a cruise in 2012 too! The baby will be 3 then, so all my kids could do the kids' clubs. Except ds11, who'll be a teenager!:scared1:

I'm so sorry. Remember, it is HIS loss. Dh loves babies, and I know I'm lucky. He is actually the one who begged for this little one-he's been asking for another baby since dd9 was born. I just wasn't ready until now. My mother had 2 kids as a teen, and their father was no help at all. After a short marriage, she moved back in with my grandparents. Their father died in May, and they had made peace with him, but he was never really a part of their lives. My father married my mother when they were 9 and 8, and he is the one who raised them.

OMG, this is not happening! I can't stop peeing! TMI but I barely go at all, but I feel like I HAVE to like every 15 minutes. This is not happening the day before I leave for WDW! Ack!

lol

I remember being pregnant with DS I had no bladder control at all. DH would get me laughing and I always thought I was going to pee my pants. It gets worse after having a baby, for me anyway. TMI I know. This might be because I am in the older prego group however.:lmao:

Tuesday I have an ultrasound... 32 oz. of water and not peeing for at least an hour and a half...are they crazy!!!!

Ann

I understand completely. My ultrasound is Dec. 23. I really hope I don't cough or sneeze before it is over!!!!:rotfl:

That was one of the first things my coworker told me. Kiss bladder control goodbye. At least my flight is only 1.5 hours. Hopefully I get a aisle seat!

So much for keeping down lunch. I'm so tired, and I have a wedding to go to tonight. It is an hour and a half from home, starts at 7, with a reception following. So much for a nice relaxing weekend.

At least this is my last week of school, then we get 2 wks off. I'll have to review Mon and Tue, but Wed-Fri I get to sit and watch them take exams. And I finished my online grad class last week, and another one want start until Jan. 12.

I'm really too old for this!

What are you getting your degree in?

DH is getting his Master's in Education. I've been nagging him to get going with it so that he could take a couple of semesters off when the baby comes, but this was his first semester. Luckily he doesn't have to finish it for 8 more years, but the way tuition keeps jumping, it's going to be hard.
