Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Okay, I just threw up at work for the first time. Another milestone 'first' down, about a million more to go. :teeth:

I think I might call my Dr tomorrow and see if I can get on one of the anti-nausea meds for a while. I'm barely keeping anything down and I'm losing weight like crazy.

It's wacky that some MILs can be fantastic while others can be so horrible. :( People are people, I guess, but why be so nasty to your son's wife? I don't get it. My DH's brother married a total nutjob, so I guess my SIL helps make me look good by comparison. All I have to do is be normal. :rotfl:

My co-workers can't figure it out either. They've enjoyed most of the saga, though. :rotfl:

She changed the time for Thanksgiving dinner like 6 times then told us she didn't know what time she was going to have it. Then finally DH called and said "Patsy's family is eating at 4. What time is dinner? I need to know."
She calls the next day and says "4 so grandma can get home before dark."
Grandma lives 45-60 minutes away from MIL and it gets dark at 5.
Our only conclusion was that she was doing that because she knew Tom would either have to make a choice or I wouldn't come.
So I flat-out told Tom if I was going to be purposefully excluded then next year I wasn't coming either and the baby, which is with me now, was going with me and not with him.
I don't know if he called her or not but three days before Thanksgiving she called and dinner was noon. :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry. :grouphug:

Awww...thanks! It's not so bad. I hope I'm not coming off whiny.:snooty:

Plus all I wanted to do before the baby was lose weight, so now I'm getting my wish. I'm sure it'll come rushing right back on sooner or later. Plus, this must mean the baby is super healthy right? That whole "nausea is a sign of a healthy pregnancy" thing? I think they say that to make us feel better!

Wow!:sad2: At least you'll hold the baby card now!

Wow, I've never seen this thread move so fast! It's great to see it back in action. I hope everyone is doing well. Me and Brayden are hanging in there. He is awake mostly in the mornings, so when I wake up I just lay there and watch my stomach move from him. DH was watching it with me this weekend and the baby was rolling. DH was like, "What the heck is he doing in there??" :rotfl: It's really funny to watch, I'm going to try to record it one day!

Anyway, I hope those of you with morning sickness get to feeling better soon. I didn't have it but I can imagine that it's horrible. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor for some meds, I've heard great things about them!

Oh, BTW, we're going to Disney World next month! I hope I do alright being pregnant. We'll see I guess! I'll be doing a trip report (link in sig) so if anyone is planning on going while pregnant, they can see how it all plays out. All I know is there will be a lot of resting and a LOT of snacking!! popcorn::

You're not! I hope I'm not coming off whiny about my MIL. :rolleyes1
We can whine together, I guess. :rotfl: (But they might boot us from this thread and we can make our own.. the "MIL Morning Sickness Whine Fest"

..I am gaining so much weight! I'm glad I didn't have morning sickness but it also means that I've kept on everything I've eaten. :scared1:
I definitely have the look of what my signature says (pudgy or pregnant?!)
I get nauseous very, very easily and I have to eat to get it to go away.

Wow! At least you'll hold the baby card now!

Yeah. I asked DH if he thought that was fair (I didn't tell him in a witchy manner) and he said "Actually, yes."

She's also super big on us having "seperate" everything. Well. DH drives a Ranger (no opportunity for a car seat in there, as there is no back seat) and I have my Grand Am.
Thus, the only car that will transport baby is my Grand Am.
I was being a little witchy one night when I said "Since your mom is so big on us having seperate stuff she'll be overjoyed to know our cars are in our respective names but maybe not so much when she realizes you'll need my car for her to see her grandkid.!" :rotfl:

Well, we are home from vacation, Maui was unbelievable..the flights were long.

I have my big ultrasound tomorrow....I'm trying to keep an open mind.

Separate everything?? Yeesh! I kinda thought that was the point of being... oh I dont know.. MARRIED??? Everything is OURS. Heck.. we even have the same email account. :lmao:

My MIL is mental... So I know how that goes. After I miscarried in March, she asked me if it was because I had my gall bladder out after my second was born. :confused3 Ummmm.. no. Then when I got pregnant this time, she asked if I had gotten pregnant again sinc ethe miscarriage. Ummmm... Yeah. Thats kinda how that works. :confused3 I was pregnant for 3 months.. LOST that baby.. NOT pregnant for 4 months.. then pregnant again. Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure it out!

Then she asked if my mom was excited about the babies coming.. I said.. YEAH!! Who wouldnt be?? Twins!! Its super exciting! Then she said that my mom had better move closer then, so she can take care of the babies.

My mom lived in Reno at the time.. With a full time job. Besides, HELLO. I have never needed anyones help taking care of my kids before, why would I now?? I certainly dont ask for HER help. She is the only one who has had something to say about us having more kids. Well.. I dont think its the right time for you.. Blah, blah, blah. WHATEVER. My husband makes good money, and takes care of us just FINE.

Wow.. Sorry about that. The woman drives me batty. :rolleyes1

Maui! How fun!! We cant wait to take the kids to Hawaii! :cool1:

Good luck tomorrow!

we went without the kids. we were surprised how many families were at the resort. Our kids would not have lasted the flights, 2 hours first round, then 5 hours 50 minutes, then the 5 hours 15 minutes to Maui. Going over we only had short lay overs, coming home, one we went right onto the next plane, the other 2.5 hours.

Oh MY. That is a lot of flying. Holy cow.. I dont think my kids would be able to hang on that one either. I know flying there from here is a straight shot.. No idea how long that flight is though.

Oh, no. Feel free to vent.
And yes. Everything seperate. Only reason the cars are still seperate is because I still have my maiden name until after my cruise next week, when I will switch my passport over. No sense in combining things and re-titleing when I was going to get a new name soon. We got married in May but I didn't want to let go of my passport until this cruise was over.

So she thinks that DH and I should have seperate everything because our marriage won't last, I think. The day she met me DH was tlaking about this (hideous!) lamp she gave him and how he wasn't sure we had room for it. She said "That's fine, pack up whatever you don't have room for and bring here I can store it until you move back out on your own again."
Thanks, lady!
..The first time she actually talked TO me (or hugged me, or said my name) was after I got pregnant.

..and she has kept a crib in her spare bedroom for BIL's girlfriend's daughter (read: not blood, not even family by marriage) and called yesterday and said "I'm getting rid of the crib."
DH said "But mom, there will be a baby soon."
She said "I don't need it."
FINE.

She doesn't drive and she's an hour from here. See how often she sees this grandbaby. I'm not going to ban her or anything crazy like that but a little effort would be nice and appreciated for me to make such an effort to go out there to the STICKS (yes, the STICKS!)

Maui!!
Pictures, please!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Are you finding out what you're having? I would love to see pictures of that too!!
I'm just a month behind you. :goodvibes :goodvibes

My MIL doesnt drive either. They live about 5 minutes away from us, and we NEVER see them. She lives with my husbands brother.. Who is in his 40s and its just the 2 of them. He is CRAZY too. He went totally NUTS on us one time... Screaming and swearing about health insurance. How no one can afford it because he doesnt work for Boeing. :confused3 I dont know. But when he started screaming swear words in front of my kids, I scooped them up and walked out. We didnt see them for MONTHS after that.

They are just a couple of kooks.. After the election they were ready to barricade themselves in their house and bust out the guns.. Because we are going to war.. With each other. :confused3 Seriously. Crack pots. We havnet been over to see them since that. I dont want my kids over there when my bil finally does go freaking nuts.

Thank goodness my mom DID move back to help if we need her. :lmao:

Holy crap, thats scary! Eeek! I wouldn't want my kid around them either.

...not to switch away from MIL venting (I could do that for awhile) but did anyone else notice we haven't had any newcomers lately? :)

Yeah, what's up with that? Everyone too busy to get knocked up?! :lmao:

So, still not feeling great today. I took a Zofran and called my dr. The nurse said they wouldn't be in the office til this afternoon, so I'm really glad I saved some pills from last time. She said she'd try and get a refill, but that would only be 10 more pills. I just want to get through the WDW trip next week without getting dehydrated.

I feel like they really don't want me taking the pills. I thought it was a B drug and okay.:confused3 I feel like they don't believe me. All of my books say that not being able to keep anything down for more than 24 hours is bad...

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day!

Good luck with the ultrasound. Hope everything looks good in there! :)

And jealous of the Maui trip. Haven't been since my honeymoon. I wanna go back! Waaahhh!

Well tomorrow's our big day too! The ultrasound! I must admit, I am really quite nervous. I haven't been very worried overall but I'm so scared the ultrasound will reveal that something is wrong. I think part of the problem is that this is my 19th week and I haven't felt the baby move yet. I would feel much better if there was movement. At least when I was sick, I knew something was happening but all has been quiet for weeks (not that I wish to be sick again!). So, wish us luck and pray that I don't pee my pants. :)
