Newest Harry Potter trailer

:lmao: Me TOO!!! I cried during the last line of the book. Not only because it was the last line, but because I remembered watching an interview with JKR, around Book 3. She said while she was writing the beginning of Book 1, she already knew what the last line of Book 7 would be and had already written it out. We had all finally come full circle with her. :grouphug: :sad1:

:lmao:

So true...and it made me feel good. Like I was part of something special that surpassed age, race, religion, etc. It brought fans of all walks of life together and it was so sad when it ended. Then I thought "well I still have the last movies to look forward to..." And now those are going to be coming to an end and I'll be a mess all over again :rotfl:

I remember reading an article when the last book came out, and they showed pictures of the midnight release parties for the book from the US, the UK, Australia, Tel Aviv, China, India, etc...

And it was all the same, they all had their costumes, they all went nuts when midnight came and the books were being sold. All I could think was, with all the madness going on in the world...there is one thing we're all in agreement on: Harry Potter is awesome. :thumbsup2

Oh, I would be LIVID if that wasn't in the movie!

They HAVE to put that in the movie! Especially since it comes through very clearly in the movies that Molly loves harry like he's one of her own children. Her mothering instincts is one of her best qualities and to not give have her express herself would be a travesty! Let Molly have her moment!

And the trailer was amazing. My bday is a few days after the movie, so I know how i'll be spending my birthday weekend. Before every movie, I go back and reread the series again to refresh my memory. So a nice leisurely read on Thursday evening and dinner and a movie on Friday. I'll have to avoid the internet for a few days, though unless I can sneak off sometime before the weekend and see it by my lonesome....;)

I will be so sad to see the end. The last book release was bad enough but I can't imagine the tearfest I'll have after the credits roll on the very last movie. This series, the characters, the stories, are just so engaging. I've been emptionally drawn into this other worl in a way no other book ever has. And I love to read so that's saying a lot. It's unexplainable, how much I've enjoyed Harry Potter. And how sad I will be to say goodbye.

That would have been so cool to see.

One book, it might have been Book 5, I actually went to the midnight release in Times Square. We got to count down to that huge lighted sign, just like on New Years Eve, but without all the crazy brawlers. Just nice families. :thumbsup2 Plus, it was warm. It was July. It was fun.

I wonder if the movie theatres will have to leave extra time in between showings of the movie, as people won't want to get out of their seats and say goodbye to the whole experience.

Plus, I really want to hear Mrs. Weasley yell that infamous line to Bellatrix Lestrange :lmao:

Does it remind anyone of Sigourney Weaver/Ripley in Aliens?

I'm sorry, but when you've been along for the journey in 6 books with some of these characters, they deserve their death scenes done properly - not skimmed past in slow motion. We've all watched enough death scenes to know what a good tearjerker death scene is.

It wasn't so much the death scene, but the lack of the funeral that was disappointing.

Well said! I think that's why I was so disappointed with the last movie. I really expected so much more from it. Especially since in the book I cried like a baby. The movie left me with a kind of indifference. I didn't hate it but I definitely didn't love it. Not like the book.

I can't help but have really high expectations for movie 7. I have tried not to with all the other movies but with this one...that's IT you know? This is their last chance to really get it right and to give the fans what they want. And because it's being split into two movies my expectations are that much higher. Because that way I feel like they have no excuse to gloss over stuff that is important. I think they know that too...I mean, some of us have been reading these books for half of our lives (I'm 24 and started reading them at age 11) and I think they realize they have some pretty high standards to meet!

The problem w/the movies, moreso the last 3, is that there is SO much going on, it's difficult to get it into 2-2 1/2 hrs. The only time I recall ANY book getting the appropriate treatment was Stephen King's "IT". They did that by making it a four hour TV mini-series. Based on the elements presented in the clip/trailer, it looks like they are getting a lot of the key points incorporated into the movie. I can't wait for the movie, and this will definitely be one to consider spending the extra money for the 3D showings!!! :cool1:

I started to lose it all with the first casualty of DH, (highlight it) Hedwig. I cried like a baby! I think that was one of the more sad deaths in the book to me.

That and the death of a certain former professor was equally bad for me.

Yes, they had better get these last two right. Not just follow along with what happens in the book, like a synopsis, but get it right. :thumbsup2
Rowling has made a point, of several occasions, of very clearly and sincerely recognizing the screen writer for being faithful to the books.

Wow!

I started crying right at the dedication when I read JK Rowling's dedication for Book 7: "And to You, if you have stuck with Harry to the very end."

Oh me too, me too.

The trailer looks wonderful:goodvibes--I am sooooo hoping someone over here does a midnight showing in English. If not we will just have to wait for the next day. I know this is a movie where there will be a big demand for Original Language showings at least.

Why oh why are these books not available in kindle editions yet? I want to reread them all again before the movie and do not have my copies over here. For goodness sakes if they would get them on Kindle they can sell them to me all over again:rolleyes:

Author J.K. Rowling has not allowed the first six Potter stories to be released as e-books and has no plans to change that for the seventh and final work, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," Neil Blair, a lawyer with Rowling's literary agency, told The Associated Press on Sunday [February 4, 2007].

Rowling has cited two reasons over the years: concern about online piracy ..., and the desire for readers to experience the books on paper.

I stated in about 3 posts that what I meant about getting it right was the emotional pacing. They try to pack 500-800 pages into 2 1/2 hours, and pretty much the last 3 moves are only a faithful synopses of the action. The heart of the books isn't the action. It's the emotions, the relationships - which unfortunately, they speed through. Unless you are Vulcan, with no emotions, ;) you get that. :goodvibes

I cried watching the trailer.
I will miss it so much!
I am 16 right now and have been reading the books since a young age. I believe my mother bought my Sorcerer's Stone at a VERY young age. From there whenever a new book came out, I would buy it. If it had a midnight premiere, I was there. If there was a midnight movie premiere, my sister and I were there.

When I saw the last Lord of the Rings movie on opening night, the audience stayed and applauded each cast member as their name came up in the credits. :thumbsup2

I've always felt that they should have done these books as mini-series. Maybe someone will do that in the future. They'd still have to leave stuff out, but not as much. And then we could have the HP experience all over again.

I was blown away by this trailer......I can't wait!

I saw the trailer yesterday, and I am so excited!

I didn't read the HP series for the first time until about 6 mos ago. Yeah, I didn't realize how awesome it was and what I was missing. I've read the whole series twice since then :goodvibes.

When it comes out in Nov, I will be 38-39 weeks pg. You bet I'm gonna waddle my fat rear into the theater to see it! :rotfl2:

I was somewhat surprised that they did a double trailer showing bits from both movies and advertising both release dates at one time rather than just showing about the November release of Part 1. I'm sure it is partly to do with not wanting to reveal the split point yet.

I'm also excited to hear what the new composer does with the score - I read a bit of an interview from him recently that they were about to start composing the music and that he hopes to incorporate more of the original themes from John Williams into the DH score as much as he can because he feels the recent films have gotten too far away from the original motifs that Williams penned and they are great and should be used more. I couldn't agree more about that. Williams wrote the original score to play almost like a Wagnerian opera where each character or location has a theme to go with it and just by listening to the music you can almost tell what is happening and who it is happening to. Not so with the recent films that have all but completely abandoned the original themes, especially HBP. Not that they've been bad, they just haven't sounded like HP to me.
