Me TOO!!! I cried during the last line of the book. Not only because it was the last line, but because I remembered watching an interview with JKR, around Book 3. She said while she was writing the beginning of Book 1, she already knew what the last line of Book 7 would be and had already written it out. We had all finally come full circle with her.

Thanks! So true...and it made me feel good. Like I was part of something special that surpassed age, race, religion, etc. It brought fans of all walks of life together and it was so sad when it ended. Then I thought "well I still have the last movies to look forward to..." And now those are going to be coming to an end and I'll be a mess all over again![]()
Oh, I would be LIVID if that wasn't in the movie!

I remember reading an article when the last book came out, and they showed pictures of the midnight release parties for the book from the US, the UK, Australia, Tel Aviv, China, India, etc...
And it was all the same, they all had their costumes, they all went nuts when midnight came and the books were being sold. All I could think was, with all the madness going on in the world...there is one thing we're all in agreement on: Harry Potter is awesome.![]()
I will be so sad to see the end. The last book release was bad enough but I can't imagine the tearfest I'll have after the credits roll on the very last movie.
And how sad I will be to say goodbye.

Plus, I really want to hear Mrs. Weasley yell that infamous line to Bellatrix Lestrange![]()
I'm sorry, but when you've been along for the journey in 6 books with some of these characters, they deserve their death scenes done properly - not skimmed past in slow motion. We've all watched enough death scenes to know what a good tearjerker death scene is.![]()

Well said! I think that's why I was so disappointed with the last movie. I really expected so much more from it. Especially since in the book I cried like a baby. The movie left me with a kind of indifference. I didn't hate it but I definitely didn't love it. Not like the book.
I can't help but have really high expectations for movie 7. I have tried not to with all the other movies but with this one...that's IT you know? This is their last chance to really get it right and to give the fans what they want. And because it's being split into two movies my expectations are that much higher. Because that way I feel like they have no excuse to gloss over stuff that is important. I think they know that too...I mean, some of us have been reading these books for half of our lives (I'm 24 and started reading them at age 11) and I think they realize they have some pretty high standards to meet!

I started to lose it all with the first casualty of DH, (highlight it) Hedwig. I cried like a baby! I think that was one of the more sad deaths in the book to me.
Rowling has made a point, of several occasions, of very clearly and sincerely recognizing the screen writer for being faithful to the books.Yes, they had better get these last two right. Not just follow along with what happens in the book, like a synopsis, but get it right.![]()
Wow!
I started crying right at the dedication when I read JK Rowling's dedication for Book 7: "And to You, if you have stuck with Harry to the very end."![]()
--I am sooooo hoping someone over here does a midnight showing in English. If not we will just have to wait for the next day. I know this is a movie where there will be a big demand for Original Language showings at least.
Why oh why are these books not available in kindle editions yet? I want to reread them all again before the movie and do not have my copies over here. For goodness sakes if they would get them on Kindle they can sell them to me all over again![]()
http://archive.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2007/2/5/114757.shtmlAuthor J.K. Rowling has not allowed the first six Potter stories to be released as e-books and has no plans to change that for the seventh and final work, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," Neil Blair, a lawyer with Rowling's literary agency, told The Associated Press on Sunday [February 4, 2007].
Rowling has cited two reasons over the years: concern about online piracy ..., and the desire for readers to experience the books on paper.

you get that.
I wonder if the movie theatres will have to leave extra time in between showings of the movie, as people won't want to get out of their seats and say goodbye to the whole experience.![]()
Does it remind anyone of Sigourney Weaver/Ripley in Aliens?
It wasn't so much the death scene, but the lack of the funeral that was disappointing.
The problem w/the movies, moreso the last 3, is that there is SO much going on, it's difficult to get it into 2-2 1/2 hrs. The only time I recall ANY book getting the appropriate treatment was Stephen King's "IT". They did that by making it a four hour TV mini-series. Based on the elements presented in the clip/trailer, it looks like they are getting a lot of the key points incorporated into the movie. I can't wait for the movie, and this will definitely be one to consider spending the extra money for the 3D showings!!!![]()
