Newer MGM Attractions

It has been 4 or 5 years since we have been to MGM and I'd love opinions on some of the newer attractions. It will be me, DH, DS17, DS13 and DS11. My guys will be happiest on ToT and RnR, but willing to do some other things too. I'm thinking they might like Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and maybe the new car show - any opinions on either? DS17 always enjoyed the Animation Studio (he loves to draw) - has it changed for the better or worse? I read that you can now draw your own picture - is that true? He might like that.

As far as shows and parades, it will probably be me and DS11 while the others keep riding. Suggestions?

We are only doing 1 park this trip and everyone agreed on MGM!

TIA

The draw your own pic is computer stuff more geared towards younger kids. I think they should like Star Tours too .It is a cool ride even though it is older.

The Animation show is very bad, skip it, but do go to the animation computers in the next room, very cool.

Beauty and the Beast show is still great, one of the best things at Disney.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid is very good as well.

They will LOVE the new car show- :yay: -my kids DD 17 and DS 12 loved it! They are also at a good age for Millionaire. And don't forget Fantasmic, the best nighttime show ever! :cheer2:

A lot of people think it's lame but your sons sound like a good age for Sounds Dangerous. Seven minutes in total darkness. Total mind game but pretty neat.

I am 17 but a girl so I will see how helpful this is lol.

Obviously RnR! I am a rock fan as well as a "fast ride" fan lol. So, as you have said above, RnR is something you need to try lol.

We tried the millionaire and had a blast! I is exciting and challenging. The only disappointment was they didn't ask many Disney questions.

Don't do the backlot tours! It changed for the worse. I used to love it but they really changed the course. You don't see the houses anymore.

Another vote for the new car show, it was my DH's favorite attraction of the whole trip recently. You should try to get all your DSs to go, they'll love it.

Thanks for all of your help! It sounds like Millionaire and the car show are 2 of the newer things we'll do as a family. The shows we've seen before (Beauty and the Beast, which I love!, Little Mermaid) and the parade will probably be DS11 and myself. We've seen Fantasmic a few times and I'm hoping they're willing to stay for it - the only show that day is at 7:00 PM, so I think they will. Unfortunately the guys aren't big on parades and fireworks- where did I go wrong :confused3 ?

We've done Sounds Dangerous and really liked it, so we'll probably do that one again. Same with Star Tours. Too bad about the animation studio -we'll try the computers at least. Thanks for the heads up.

RnR was DS11's first looping roller coaster and they all can't wait to go on it again! And yes, I on it too!

How many times per day is the car show and how early should we get there to get a seat?

The car show runs about 4 (?) shows a day. I'd grab a Fastpass, so you're guaranteed a seat and you don't have to wait in line for an hour. The stadium seats a lot of people (I forget the exact number) so there's plenty of room, and every seat offers the same view. It's one of the best stunt shows at WDW.

Indiana Stunt Show is also a good one. If your sons enjoy LMA, then try Indy's.

I've never used FP for a show before - how does it work? How early do you get one and will it affect getting FPs for rides (ToT and RnR)?
