:earsgirl: Hi everybody! Been reading these boards for weeks and decided to join in. Taking my 1st land/sea vacation in Sept. Will be flying into MCO on a Thurs. Booked everything thru a TA. Won"t get my doc's for awhile yet. I'm concered about what time I'll be scheduled to fly. Would like to leave EARLY on Thurs. not to waste a day in the parks. Does anyone have any experience with this? I will be crazy before Sept. gets here!

hi :wave2: I really do not have this kind of experience..Just wanted to give you a warm welcome... :goodvibes

Others will step up here, do not fear.. :teeth:

Our first land & sea was also our first trip to WDW. What we did was fly in a day early, coming from the west coast we had to travel all day. We stayed at our on site resort and then just transfered to our room that was part of the land portion. I have been in sept and there are usually some great rates so a one night stay shouldn't coast that much. And you won't waste a day for the parks by traveling!

PS Welcome to the board!

Welcome!!!!
We did a land/sea last summer and we did like ericamanda did. We added an extra day on the front of ours since we fly from Denver it takes all day to get there. If you are coming in from closer you would probably get there earlier in the day.

Hello! We are only traveling from Phila.so I hope that means we will get an early start. If I had found these boards sooner I would have booked my airline portion separate from my trip and selected my own flight times(and saved some money too!). :disrocks:

Welcome!

Unless you pay an additional $50.00 per person air deviation fee, they don't take any special flight requests.

You can still make your own flight arrangements. That portion of your cruise package can be removed without penalty up until the balance due date. :flower:

Where are you flying out of? We fly out of Detroit, leave on the 6:40 am flight arrive orlando around 9:30 or 10, and are usually on our way to the parks by noon.
Yes, it is somewhat tiring, but even the kids are so geeked about being there, that they don't mind.

If you did fly in the day before, I'd make it a later afternoon flight. That way you would have just enough time to have dinner, go to bed and get up ready to go to the parks.

I would cancel the flight portion of your package and book your the airfare on your own then you can leave as early as possible. I would even consider flying on Wed after work and staying at an inexpensive motel in Kissimmee on Wed night so you can be at the park at opening time on Thurs morning. Just a thought....
