I'll try to sum up:

- We made a reservation thru AAA in January for a Dec trip. Got to talking about DVC, and decided to do it.
- We finished our paperwork and sent it in. At the same time I called and made the same Dec reservation (for the Poly) using points thru MS. I received a conf ltr dated 2/24.
- I immediately contracted a horrid case of add-on-itis. I contacted our guide, who handled everything and we got the paperwork done. Again.
- They reentered my ressie under the new contract #, so I got a new conf letter with a different #, dated 3/8.
- Everything looks fine. I called AAA to cancel. They will call Disney, can't give me a cancellation #. Should see my deposit credit w/in two cycles.
- I call MS to double-check that everything is cool with the ressie. I am told that CRO knows nothing of the ressie, and that as the moment draws near the Poly and MS will hook up (my words) to confirm everything.

First, this doesn't give me a warm & fuzzy feeling about the "firmness" of my ressie. I don't want to fly into MCO, show up at the Poly desk, and them go "What a pleasant surprise Mr. -Mania, we had no idea you'd be dropping by." IIRC, there was a thread recently about a similar situation at AKL.

Second, and this is just confusing me, before the DVC stuff happened, I could pull up my trip on disney.com and see everything about it: dates, resort, the number of days until the trip, etc. Now, post-DVC with the over-lapping ressie's, it only says "Can't wait to see you!" (no specific counter), and for resort it just says "Other."

MS told me not to bother calling CRO, cuz they wouldn't have a clue about the DVC ressie. However, in a phone call a week or two ago, I could swear the nice lady gave me a non-DVC confirmation/ressie #, which I can't find now. And to top it off, I tried to confirm the ressie # with MS, who had a totally different conf # from the ones before.

Sorry for the length, and TIA for your help. Something just doesn't feel right.

You should have received a confirmation letter from DVC with the details of your reservation. MS is correct, CRO won't have any record of the reservation until a few days prior to arrival- the reservation wasn't made thru CRO and DVC controls the reservation at this time.

The reservation number will not be a typical CRO number, it will be unique to the DVC system.

I'm a little unclear about the AAA concerns- that would be an entirely separate issue from your DVC reservation and will need to be handled thru them.

If you have not received a confirmation, you should call MS and request a duplicate be sent to your home address. DVC reservations may also be viewed online at dvcmember.com .

It looks like you have plenty of time to resolve this and gain confidence in the system.

Welcome Home! :)
