We have reservations for POFQ at the end of Sept/Oct timeframe with the free dining of course and here is my questions: What Restaurants should you/or do you really need a PS at? I realized most likely the places at Epcot but what about 50's Prime Time and Sci Fi Diner, also what about the places located at the Contemporary, ect, can you make PS's there too or do you just show up and use your Dining credits?

I'm trying to make my list to call in the next few days to make some PS's and I really want to make sure I make all the ones I need to so when we arrrive at WDW I dont have to be upset because I should of make PS's at some of the places I wanted to eat at.

Thanks

Welcome to the boards.

I think it depends on where you want to eat. We make PS's for all our sit down meals, but some people don't. You mentioned the Contemporary and if you want to eat at Chef Mickeys, you would want to make a PS. Same with California Grill. We've also always make PS's for any of the park restaurants.

We usually only make one or two PS's a day. My family prefers to eat a sit down breakfast and then snack the rest of the day. But, if we don't eat a big breakfast, then we plan a nice dinner. I always make them 'cause I think it is better to be safe than sorry. We've shown up at some restaurant for our PS, and there are only three or four tables occupied. I feel kind of foolish, but I'd rather do that that than not have a seat.

Some places we've eaten where we definitely needed PS's:

Chef Mickeys
Boma
California Grill
Hollywood Brown Derby
CRT
PSB
Crystal Palace
Ohana
50's Prime Time Diner

Places where it was nice to have, but maybe really didn't need:

Olivia's
Trails End
Plaza Restaurant

Hope that helps some...

I honestly think that with the free dining plan, the table service places may not be accepting any walkups. I mean, if you just think that just about every hotel guest there will be dining table service at least once a day. That's a LOT of people! I expect them to not be taking any walkups, or very very few each day.

If I was going at that time, I would make a PS for a table service everyday just to ensure I have one to go to. If plans change, that can be canceled or skipped easily and without penalty. I would hate to show up, have points available to dine, and not get into anyplace.
