Newbie trying to figure it all out - VGC??

Just request “view of pool” and you’ll be far enough away from Jellyrolls not to have any problems. If you like afternoon naps, request “view of quiet pool” specifically, because the afternoon activities at Luna Pool don’t allow any napping!

Hmm...now I'm wondering if BWV will just be too loud for us. Can you hear music from Jelly Rolls or Atlantic City Dance Hall in the rooms?

This is primarily an issue if you get the Boardwalk view rooms. You don't haveto worry about the evening entertainment noise in a pool garden or standard view. If anything, I found BWV rooms to have thinner walls as I heard more noise coming from the neighboring rooms.

Ugh...I don't like that either. I feel like we're going to struggle finding a place we like at WDW that will be available at the 7-month mark. I know some are a lot quieter but I don't want it to take forever to get to the parks, especially if we take an afternoon break like at Disneyland. And it seems like the quiet ones are so far from everything.

Our previous WDW trips, in the years before we had a child, we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside (alligator bayou section) and Pop Century. We managed fine so maybe we'd be okay at BWV.

How you do Disney is a completely different ball game once you have kids. Quick access to the park and room is crucial. That's obviously more challenging at WDW but it takes a bit more planning. We find that doing split stays worked best for us. BLT the first 5-6 nights to focus on MK. The next week at BCV or BWV to focus on Epcot/HS. You're not going to find that one-size-fits-all resort at WDW to cover all the parks. You just need to pick a park that you'll prioritize and book a resort that best fits your needs.

Regardless I think the Las Vegas tourism board would take either and sell it. We embraced the name sin city after all..

It’s beautiful right now in NV. A few more weeks and it will be a bit warmer :)
Very true. Getting back to its “what happens in Vegas” roots after those rather odd “family vacation destination” years with theme parks and casinos with roller coasters.

We haven’t had noise issues at BWV except for the Luna Park pool afternoon activities and the occasional neighbor conversations that come under the connecting door between studio and living room. A towel or pillow stuffed under takes care of that, and it can happen at any DVC resort. Also there are joyous children thundering loudly down the hall, which also happens elsewhere. And sometimes in our BW view villas on lower floors we’ve had noise from guests having fun, but you won’t get that in a P/G view (except Village Green view, which I would recommend you not request). I think you’ll find “view of quiet pool” a good one for your family, as long as you don’t mind sort of long walks down the hallway. BWV hallways were legendary for being long, until Kidani came along!

I've heard about those infamous Kidani Hallways! I concur with the P/G views near the DVC pool. In fact, we used the DVC pool more than the main pool. Just way more chill and relaxing. And our kids loved the community hall right next to that pool. But you're right about the long hallways in BWV too.

We did not have any noise issues at BWV-view of the yard area and boardwalk. It was lovely. We also love AKV-you don’t have the transportation ease but it’s so lovely and your son might love the animals. And OKW is so lovely and peaceful as another option.

We still loved OKW without a car! It’s super quiet and fairly centrally located.

People love BWV but we are not those people. But we have had standard view twice and were waaaayyyyyyy on the end. Both times we rented ours out to rent someone else’s for the 11 month window to get standard (Race weekend and NYE week). One time we had the huge corner one bedroom which was huge but dark. But. The location was great. We did NYE at EPCOT and being able to walk back was priceless. I’d stay the again if the location was gonna really help our stay. But I do think we’d try pool/garden next time.

The community hall at BWV was pretty great- even better than the one at OKW although OKW had more outdoor sporty type things. We did the Surrey Bikes (which are also at BW) and they were fun but harder than they look 🤣

I saw "community hall" on the map and wondered what that was.

I'll have to look up pictures of these long hallways because I've heard people mention them before and I'm curious now.
