Newbie - rented points - can we upgrade dining?

Hello! I am researching our first trip to Disney World, and I'm planning it for my extended family (18 people!).

We used a referral off this board to find someone to rent from, and have secured three studios and a 2-bedroom Villa for Saratoga Springs for May 19-23. Great deal!

The person we're renting from was kind enough to sign us all up for the Disney Dining plan per my request. Since then, I've made tons of reservations for meals, especially character meals.

Upon check-in, if everyone staying in one villa (i.e., my family of 4) wants to, will we be able to upgrade to the Deluxe plan even though we signed up for the regular plan? My dad is funding the basic plan for all of us, but because we have little kids and are planning so many character meals, I think the Deluxe Plan makes sense for us (especially since we have a two-year-old we don't have to pay for - I can just feed her my appetizers). Also, if we do this, can we give some of our meals to other people in our party staying at a different villa (ie, if we all eat together, can I "pay" for their meal with my points?

Understand we'll need to pay gratuities.

Also, I have my confirmation #s. Will I be able to call guest services with those #s and ask questions like this? Or will they not talk to me even though one of the studios is in my name, since I rented points?

Any other pointers you want to offer a first-timer? I have learned SO MUCH from these boards. We know we're staying a ways out, but it was all that was available at such short notice.

If there is one reservation for the entire group, everyone has to have the same plan. If there are different reservations for different villas, you can contact the member you rented from ask for your particular reservation to get the deluxe plan. This will need to be done before you arrive.

The only meals you can pay with your credits are the ones you eat. If your resort Card says 2 adults and 1 children, that is all you will be allowed to order at one time. The credits are not transferable.

Thank you! I did have the member sign each villa up for the regular plan, sounds like I just need to ask them to upgrade my specific villa to the deluxe. Is it bad etiquette to ask them to do this once they already signed us up for the regular plan? The person is very nice and I don't want to make things complicated.

It should be a relatively simple matter for them to do, so no, I don't think it's improper for you to ask them to do this for you.
