Newbie questions

Hi DIS'ers,

this year will be my first trip to Disney World: so excited, but I'm slightly overwhelmed! I hope you guys can answer a few of my questions! I'm from Europe and English isn't my first language (sorry in advance).

1. Online incheck: I booked a room (king bed) at coronado springs resort. I would like to stay at the Casita buildings, but on the online incheck this option wasn't available. Can someone tell me what to do?

2. Magical express: I booked my Disney package in advance (before my flight) and my flight will arrive the night before I can check in into my Disney resort. So I'll sleep at the airport for the first night, but I had to check in into the magical express with my flight numbers: but I don't need the magical express right away; I need it the next morning. So what should I do? How does that work? Do I need to give a different flight number?

3. What would be your best travel advice for going to Universal Studios for one day? (I don't have a rental car, but I could rent one).

4. DAS: I might need a DAS (because of a chronical liver disease). Does someone know how long it takes to apply for one? And if I need to leave a line to use the bathroom urgently; is there a possibility to return in the line or do I have to join the end of the line again?

5. I have a Disney package with a free Memory Maker. I wanted to link my free Memory Maker with the MDE app, but it won't work. Can someone help me with that? Or do I have to wait till I'm at Disney (when I also receive my Magicband)?

I hope someone can answer my questions, that would be a big help!

welcome! Hopefully you will have a great first trip to Disney...Let me see if I can answer some of your questions for you!

Can someone tell me what to do? Usually if you want to request a certain room you need to call Disney directly and have them put the request on your account. But beware not every request can be granted.

2. Magical express: I booked my Disney package in advance (before my flight) and my flight will arrive the night before I can check in into my Disney resort. So I'll sleep at the airport for the first night, but I had to check in into the magical express with my flight numbers: but I don't need the magical express right away; I need it the next morning. So what should I do? How does that work? Do I need to give a different flight number? I have never used Magical Express but I would think it would coincide with your reservation. In other words I don't think they would want to pick you up to take you to your resort when your reservation won't start until the next morning.

3. What would be your best travel advice for going to Universal Studios for one day? (I don't have a rental car, but I could rent one). I would either rent a car or use a Taxi or Uber service. Uber is very popular at Disney.

And if I need to leave a line to use the bathroom urgently; is there a possibility to return in the line or do I have to join the end of the line again? The way the DAS works is you get a return time and when you return to the ride after the return time you go into the fast pass lane. We get the DAS for our son and I don't think we have ever waited more than 15 minutes in the fast pass queue. If you are granted a DAS I would find out how that works, but in my experience if you have to leave the line you will probably need to go back to the end of the FP line. Just make sure you notifiy the cast members that yo need to leave the line so you don't lose your DAS time.

5. I have a Disney package with a free Memory Maker. I wanted to link my free Memory Maker with the MDE app, but it won't work. Can someone help me with that? Or do I have to wait till I'm at Disney (when I also receive my Magicband)? Memory maker should already be synced with your account if you went through Disney to get your package. If you bought it from a different vender and not from Disney I think you would need to call Disney to ask how to get it onto your disney experience account.

For ME, just head down and check in at the podium when you're ready. No big deal. Jus make sure to leave the yellow tags off your luggage so they don't take it.

For the DAS, you'll more than likely need to start over. You could explain, but I wouldn't count on leeway.

Can someone tell me what to do? As a PP stated, you need to call Disney and ask to have your building request added to your reservation. On line check in does not include this option. And requests are never guaranteed.

2. Magical express: I booked my Disney package in advance (before my flight) and my flight will arrive the night before I can check in into my Disney resort. So I'll sleep at the airport for the first night, but I had to check in into the magical express with my flight numbers: but I don't need the magical express right away; I need it the next morning. So what should I do? How does that work? Do I need to give a different flight number? Many do find a flight that arrives the morning of the day they want to utilize ME and give that information to DME rather than the information of the night before (real flight) You could also just call them and reserve the correct day, which will not be a problem

You will need to go to Guest Relations and describe for them what your needs are. They do not consider Diagnosis, but rather what accommodations to waiting in line you need. Thank you all for your kind messages and the answers A lot of things are more clear now And I'll take a look around at this board!

I have another question...
I booked my Disney vacation through the English Disney site (because I'm from Europe). So I'll get my Magicband once I arrive at my resort. Have other people booked through the UK Disney site? And did you receive like papers/reservations in advance at your address? Or do you receive all the information when you check in into your resort?
And are there any differences from booking your vacation from the UK site instead of the US?
