Newbie questions about DLRP.

Hi there all!

We've been lurking here for a while and congrats to you all for providing a valuable and fun info resource.

We're off to DLRP 4 weeks today for the first time (Nick's parents, our 3 year-old daughter and the two of us) and we have a few silly newbie questions we'd like some help with if you could (please):

We are staying at Sequoia lodge, and are wondering:

1. If towels are provided in the rooms at the hotel (we reckon they are but can't find it written anywhere).

2. If there are tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms here.

3. Has anyone booked a Paris city tour from their hotel and if so waht was it like? (We are sending mum and dad on one as mum has never been to Paris)

I can answer the first two questions for you!

Yes towels are provided in your room, but you need to use different ones for the swimming pool, these are collected from reception at the swimming pool building (when we went you had to pay for them not sure if that still the case).

There isn't tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. We took a small travel kettle & tea, coffee etc with us and just left milk in the mini bar.

Hello mandyandnick and welcome to the DIS!

I believe that you can hire kettles from the concierge/information desk at the hotel. If it's like the Cheyenne, they charge a 30 euro refundable deposit for the kettle, and you can buy a tea and coffee basket for about 5 euros, which includes enough cups and supplies for four people.

I know very little about Paris city tours, but I have found this recent thread with information about tour and other various options for a trip to Paris.

We are just back from a 5 Day trip to DLPR and did a day in Paris.
We did our own thing and went by train and then used the hop on hop off double decker buses. Depending on the age of the parents, my advice would be to do the coach tour that goes from Disney. It wouldn't have the same flexibility but it should be The train is fine but the buses can be hit and miss - they may spend more time waiting for buses and after the queuing in DLRP, that's the last thing they want to be doing !! Unless of course they are young at heart, up for a challenge and are that way inclined if you know what I mean. Check out the coach tour that Disney do and see does it cover the sights that they would like to see.

Thanks Hazelgrove and Bexx, the other thread made interesting reading. As my parents are in their mid 60's and think that independant travel involves each of you holding your own ticket whilst on the bus, I think the Cityrama DLP organised day tour would suit. I'm not sure mum will actually go up to the first floor of the Eiffel tower though, she gets seasick in the bath and dizzy up a stepladder.

Hi, we visited DLRP in November staying at the Sequoia Lodge. 2 adults and one just 4 year old daughter. We had a wonderful time, loved the hotel,it is just a short walk around the side of the lake to the park. There are no Tea and Coffee facilities in the room take a travel kettle and adapter. You can get all you need from the shop just inside the train station which is right alongside the gates to the park. They also sell sandwiches and fruit. We all enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked the same hotel for July.
I recommend booking the Good Morning Fantasyland breakfast which you have in one of the restauraunts in the park. Its free to book, just ask at reception and it gets you into the park before it officially opens too. have a lovely time.
