Newbie question on AAA and codes

I booked a package for May 4-12 with AAA. If a code comes out for that time can I call AAA and have them apply it for a lower rate, or do I need to cancel the ressies and rebook thru Disney? Do I qualify for another discount or is what I have thru AAA it? I've already made some dining ressies, which I don't want to lose. I'm a first timer, so no AP or FL discounts apply for me.

I don't know if your AAA agent can change your reservation to another code or not. You will have to call AAA and ask them. You may not "double up" on discounts as far as I know.

On a couple of the other threads people are saying you can only apply a new code to an existing reservation if the resort has rooms available at the discounted rate. If they are booked solid then you won't be able to apply the discount to your room.

It seems like the deals Disney has been offering for the general public have NOT been room discounts. Last year from late August through very early October they offered free dining, then in January they offered free ticket upgrades (water parks and maybe park hopping for the price of a base ticket). But to get those deals you had to be paying rack rate for the room.
