Hi everyone. We're going down in October and taking our 20 month (at that time) daughter. Is it worth buying a Pal Mickey this time?? Seems a little expensive...or am I just being a little cheap?? LOL. Thanks!

WELCOME to the DISBOARDS!

I would not buy Pal Mickey specifically FOR the 20 month-old.
(just get any little stuffed Mickey for kid-fun).

But, Pal Mickey is a lot of fun when you're old enough to understand what he's saying to you... Corny jokes, ride information, parade and show alerts, things like that.
Yes, he's expensive... but if YOU like him, he might be worth it.

We have the original version and still take him with us to the parks every trip.

There's a new rumor floating that by the end of this year (after the 50th Celebration) there may be a newer version of the Pal released... again, unsubstantiated at this point.

There are a lot of Pal Mickey discussions here. Click on the following links for recent ones.

I agree with ROBO - don't buy it for a 20 month old. Infact, my kids were 2 and 6 when we bought ours and they didn't enjoy it that much. It became just something else to tote around all day - and worry about losing.

Hold out for the new version when your child will be a little older and can get more out of it.

Isn't it alittle inconvienent to carry Pal Mickey around with you in the parks? How big is he anyways...and aren't you afraid of someone else stealing him?

Just wondering...was thinking of buying one...my kids would think it was neat...but I don't want to be bogged down with carrying him...unless he rides in my back pack...but then we couldn't hear him.

Oh well...tell me all about him!

Pal Mickey is great fun, He comes with a belt clip so you don't have to hand carry him everywhere. I agree I would not buy him for a 20 month old. However the adults will have a blast with him.

Hmmm...Ok, I think I will hold off this trip and see if there is a newer one in the future. I think he looks really neat and I would love to hear what he says... LOL...you never know, I may end up getting one anyway.

Is he just for the MK?

Pal Mickey is for ALL of the parks... when entering a park he has to go in nose first (that's where the gps thingy is) and then he says all different kinds of things through out each park and most rides! He was fun, but my 10 year old got alot more out of him than our 2 year old. so he was the one that lugged him around and let us all know that he was saying something. Sometimes Mickey would ask that we all sing Zip a de doo dah... and so our whole family would break into song. He was fun and did play games as well, but now the battery is dead and he is just sitting there waiting to go back "home". He wasn't exacty "useful" and if it wasn't for our 10 year old he probably would have stayed in the room after the first couple of days.

You could SAY you were buying it for your child but actually buy it for yourself! :sunny: I'm 28 and I bought one last year. I love it. I'm a teacher, and we took our BETA Club. Well we adults liked it better than the kids. They looked at us like we were crazy. Seriously, I say it's worth it if the person is old enough to enjoy it.
