Hey All...Well we finally did it we are about to embark on a full blown DIS Vacation. :earsgirl: But by popular demand(The Children Of Course)We booked the nick hotel kids suites. :confused3 I'm somewhat nervous if we made the right choice HELP PLEASE! I'm a little afraid that we might miss all the DIS magic by staying off the property. Is there any truth to this and if so would we be better off if we re-book are reservations to one of the DIS resorts in FL.
Thank You,Richie V.

Hello! Welcome to the Dis!

I truly feel that your not doing Disney unless you stay in Disney. It really does add to the magic, not to mention all the extra Disney perks.Like transportation!

Welcome to the DIS. :flower: For me personally staying onsite is a big part of the magic. Not everyone feels that way though. Reading a lot here on the DIS may help you make that decision. There are boards for onsite and offsite resorts.

I agree staying onsite ads to the majic. Welcome to the DIS. :Pinkbounc

I love staying onsite, but last year we had a big group, and that particular Holiday Inn was offering a very good special (it was before the Nick refirb was complete, though...it was less than $100. a night for a group of seven and it included hot breakfast!). We had a great time! Being able to all stay together made up for the loss of Disney magic. We were a little crowded and were sharing one bathroom, but we didn't care...we were together and at Disney! :goodvibes

That being said, I would not pay top dollar for it if that same money could get me on property. We have since bought into DVC to solve this problem. Our first trip home is NEXT WEEK!!! :Pinkbounc

Hope this helps!

Welcome, Richie! One thing that is for sure is that you will get a wealth of information by visiting the disboards. That being said, I know from experience that there's NOTHING like staying on Disney property. I've done both, and now I never stay off property. When the only hotel options were deluxe and when my pocketbook was a lot slimmer, we had no other choice but to stay off property. Disney, with the additions of all the value resorts, has made it very affordable to stay on property. You truly feel more magic when you stay at one of the Disney resorts.
