Hello! We are going to WDW in February, 2014. We are going with my in law's and brother-law's family. There will be three kids going. My two- DS (5) and DD (3) and my niece (4).

We are wondering if strollers will be necessary. We have gotten rid of them but if we need to will purchase some to take with us.

Sooo, should we go out and buy the wheels?

You know your children best and know their capabilities when it comes to walking.

Here's our story...We went for 7 straight park days last year when DD was 3 and we NEEDED a stroller. She doesn't nap so after one mid-day break we found it best for us to just stay in the park all day and her little legs couldn't take 12+ hours of walking and standing. We're going again next month and taking a stroller again this time. We don't however use it all day. We get to a section of the park, let's just say fantasy land, park it for a ride then do that section before coming back for her wheels. We loved having it at World Showcase as its a long haul and to and from the park each day as that itself could be a trek.

We usually activate our AP vouchers at guest relations at the front of Epcot. We will be staying at BC and wondered if there was a place to activate the AP vouchers from the international gateway entrance to Epcot. Thanks!!;)

No clue about the International Gateway for AP, but for strollers, I would say a definite YES. During our Jan trip this year, DN4, who hasn't sat in a stroller for at least a year (mostly by choice), had his toosh parked in one the entire trip, and he really needed it. DN4 is a very active kid, taking walks in the AM and evening with his family (live near a great park), and I suggested to my sister that she bring a stroller 'just in case.' Well after Day 1, it became clear that the Maclaren would be joining us every day.

I wouldn't buy one, unless you need it at the airport...just rent one. Apple has been renting them for 'free' just pay insurance on the stroller, and I have only seen positive comments about them.

We stopped using a stroller at 5, but many bring them for 5-8 year olds. Even though your 5yo might scoff at wanting to ride in a stroller, if his sister is getting a ride, he might just want one too. If not, it can hold a backpack/bag for you.

Have fun!

Moving to the Families Board.

ThumpersMommy, you need to start your own thread to ask that question on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board. They should be able to help you over there.

I would say yes. You obviously know your own children best, but I would never go to WDW without a stroller for a child under 6. No, we don't typically use strollers for our 3 year old at home. There is no way we would go to WDW without a stroller. We typically rent one from Orlando Stroller Rentals. There are tons of places to rent so no need to buy one. I would caution you from renting directly from Disney as those strollers aren't really comfortable and are usually more expensive than renting offsite.

My dd is turning six on our next trip and said yes to a stroller when I offered. I remember thinking she didn't use one much at all when she went at 3.5, and she was never a stroller baby, but she remembers being "so, so tired" and enjoying it on our last trip. I'm thinking I will rent one which, at worst, will become a place for the cooler, jackets, water bottles, etc. It'll be like renting a portable locker. Only unlocked, and open to the elements. :-)

You absolutely need a stroller, or 2 or 3! Our last trip my girls were 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 and my husband and I each pushed an umbrella stroller. I would recommend that since its cheaper than buying a double stroller and then an extra. If money isn't an option then maybe you can look into renting a stroller from WDW or a stroller rental companies in Orlando.
