Hello!

I have the opportunity to get a Cricut from someone and I was told it is the "smaller" machine, with 2 sticky mats that are in good shape, wants $140.

My questions are

Is this a decent price?

Is this machine going to be a good match for me if I do all scrapbooking in 12 by 12 books? DOes that matter, I am so new to this!

I am thinking it would be nice to have but not sure if it is worth the $$.
I scrap quite frequently, nothing digital, and really enjoy it!

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

First, is she selling you any cartridges w/ this machine?
I just sold my baby bug *smaller machine* to a friend for less than that...included a mat, cart and machine...but that is just me.. I hate to sell things to friends for much...

Anyway, it is a decent price... walmart sells brand new for about 190.00 or you could wait for black friday sales and see if there is going to be a better price brand new..

As for only scrapping 12x12.. it doesn't matter.. I scrap 12 x 12 and all the smaller sizes.. and it really doesn't matter.. you can adjust the size of your letters or shapes to fit accordingly... I love it for my 12 x 12 pages and of course my smaller pages..

I personally find it well worth the money..it saved in stickers, embellishments, etc..and if you ask my friend she is texting me and telling me that she loves it and is actually going back and re titling or embellishing most of her pages that are already complete and keeps thinking me for the bug... She is very happy with it...

Thanks for posting.

No carts,
and I am thinking I may just hold out for some crazy sale at AC Moore or retail for the holidays, maybe with a coupon, though I think the coupons may not be valid with cricut.

I guess I'll hold out for new, perhaps with a bundle of some type.

You can get a new one at Hallmarkscrapbook.com for $159 and $8 shipping. I would say that seems a bit high to me unless it is basically brand new and see is including the George cart.

If you aren't worried about the George Cart they sell them for $109 with $8 shipping.

Both of them only come with 1 new mat but the mats aren't that expensive.

I just bought the small bug at Sams Club yesterday for $199, included george cartridge, tool kit, carrying bag, and pack of paper. It is not listed on their website but I found it at the store by the office supplies. I thought about buying a used one but wasn't sure, this way everything is brand new. Love it already.

Thanks, I don't belong to Sams just Bj's will check it out and see if they also carry it.....Hoping with holiday season and ALLEGED people cutting back on spending, I MAY get a better deal.....Got my fingers crossed!

Hi.
Last year, I bought the baby cricut in Michaels in the black Friday sales for $129. This included the George cart, a trimmer, extra mats and blades, a tool kit and 2 paper packs so it was definately worth getting up at 5am to be at the front of the queue (especially as they only had 4 of these packs at that price). :goodvibes

Personally, i would wait and save up for the Expression.. I think to buy the baby bug, you will just end up wanting the larger one down the road.. ;)
