Hi

I have an overnight stay in Newark, early flight next morning to Orlando, and was wondering if anyone has any information, recommendations - good or bad on any of the airport hotels, the Holiday Inn at the airport is the one I'm looking at but not sure.

Thanks

I know that the Marriott is within the boundaries of the airport and is probably the most convenient for that reason. It is your typical airport Marriott, used primarily for business conferences. There are several other hotels that are along the highway that lead in to the airport (Hilton for sure, not sure about others). You may want to confirm with Holiday Inn if they will shuttle you back and forth to the terminal.... good luck

i'm not sure about the hotels - but coming from the area I would recommend that you check for free hotel shuttles back and forth from the airport - it's a very big airport and for security reasons cabs cannot park at departures so it may be hard to get transportation if it's not a regular shuttle - the hotel may be good - but if it's hard to get to then it's not worth the aggravation staying there

There are two new hotels near Jersey Gardens, right outside the Newark airport on the Elizabeth side. There is a Courtyard by Marriott and a Residence Inn right next to each other. I don't know if they have park & fly rates, but we just moved our car in the AM to Avistarparking right on rt 1 and they drove us to the terminal.
We have also stayed at the Marriott on airport property..and still left our car at Avistarparking on Haines Ave. for early morning departures.

Hi

Thanks for all the replies - very helpful.

Michele - which hotel would you recommend - one of the new ones or the Mariott on airport site. parking is not a problem as we are flying from Scotland via Newark with an overnight stay in Newark.

I like the Marriott on airport property, you can use their van to transport you to the hotel and then back to the terminal in the morning. The Marriott is a lot more $ than the Courtyard or Residence Inn, so depending on your budget, either one would be ok. They all have van service to the terminals. If you are staying on a weekend you might try the Marriott 2 for breakfast rates.

The Marriott is really nice! We have had Mother's Day Brunch there twice! It is ridiculously convenient to the terminals!

Hi

Thanks to everyone who replied.

I've just booked the Marriott on airport through Priceline as suggested on another thread that I had posted. I'm really pleased with the price etc.

I wish the trip was nearer! never mind I'm below the 200 days now lol:goodvibes
