Hello All.

I was wondering if any of you could suggest good websites to get discounted rates on hotels in New York and San Francisco?

Also any suggestions on where to stay in both areas.

Thanks alot :teeth:

Hiya Stal,

I'm sure plenty of DISers will have some great suggestions for you!

I've not been to NY (some family members have but by the time I've asked you'll have had plenty of responses LOL!)

However, DBF and I went to San Fransisco in 2002. It was wonderful, we look forward to going back some day. It was at the end of a coach tour of Nevada, Arizona and CA so we didn't get a choice of hotel. Our hotel, the Cathedral Hill Hotel was nice but _very_ far away from the main areas (Fishermans Wharf, Golden Gate Park, Union Square etc).... I would suggest somewhere at Fishermans Wharf as we found ourselves going there by tram quite a bit, or somewhere up by the parks, they are beautiful and if you base yourself up there you are bound to see plenty of museums etc!

Most of all, have fun and let us know how you get on :)

I've used Priceline for hotels in both cities with good success. I would suggest going to www.biddingfortravel.com for tips and info on using Priceline. It is a bulletin board (kind of like the DIS) and has lots of good information. I believe they also have a section on Hotwire, which is another website that offers discounts.

Edited to add that we've stayed at the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf and the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco and the Sheraton Towers and the <sniff, sniff> World Trade Center Marriot :( with Priceline bids.
