New Years Resolutions?

My are to:
to declutter the house
To lose 20lbs
Eat more healthy
Have fun and enjoy life

Use the crock-pot at least twice a week for dinner.
Limit snacking and start walking again.

1) To maintain a positive attitude
2) To eat healthy
3) To exercise five days a week
4) To save a six month expenses emergency fund -- Had it but had an emergency last month and had to spend part of it

I've got a great new year ahead -- awesome new job starting January 5!

Joined Weight Watchers -- third time's the charm? I have a whole person to lose.

We've reinvited Flylady back to our house to start us in routines and decluttering...with my job, I commute 2 hours each way (train and bus, so I get to enjoy the commute), but the rest of the family will need to have their routines going.

I'm posting these 'cause maybe doing so will help me keep 'em:

1. Stay in closer touch with my sister, sister-in-law, and best friend from childhood (none of whom live in the same state I do)

2. Be regularly involved in my church

3. Volunteer at an elementary school that needs me

4. Write regularly and complete this novel I have in my head

5. Exercise regularly and eat right to keep my cholesterol in check so I won't need meds -- walk 7 days a week as often as possible, exercise beyond that five days a week, weigh 118 by July 1 (which means I have to lose 10 pounds, but I weighed 115 last July and put on weight visiting Disney, going on a two week cruise, and then eating my way through Christmas -- LOL! So I think I can lose 10 pounds by July.)

Thanks for starting this thread! I'm going to copy this out and keep it where I can see it every day to keep me focused. And I wish everyone else who is making resolutions all my best wishes for success! We can do it if we try!! :)

I don't really "do" New Year's resolutions, but if I had to pick one, it would be trying to put a little weight back on.. 84 lbs. just isn't healthy and so far, nothing has worked.. I'll be checking out the weight-gaining protien powders as soon as I can get out to someplace that sells them..

Other than that, any changes will just be things I decide to change on a day-to-day basis.. :)

I want to memorize the order of the Presidents and learn at least a brief biography of each one. I'm using this site to get started:

That's a great resolution that I would have never thought of. I may try it, too. Thanks for the site!

I need to do Flylady again, too. With our house addition, it's all gone to the wayside and making me stressed.

Oh, C. Ann. I was hoping you were doing better. Is there any improvement at all?

Don't forget to try GNC if you can. The last time I was there a couple of weeks ago, I was trying a new Muscle Milk and the employee reminded me that if I didn't like it to bring it back even if it was open.

I haven't set my resolutions, yet. I know I need to eat better. I don't know if it will work as long as I'm on these stupid steroids, though. I want to eat everything! I like the presidents one. I need to start walking. I really haven't much since my hysterectomy. So, maybe I'll add tht one.

I want to be healthier and happier, and to read more.
Kind of broad, yet at the same time goal-oriented.

1) Exercise - lose 10+ lbs (cut out ALL coke products!)
2) Payoff credit card(s)
3) Have more patience
4) No more cursing....(i have a potty mouth sometimes...goes with the patience issue!)
5) Do more with my kids...more game nights, more movies, more fun stuff!
6) Go to church regularly.

Nothing major...just some good ol' positives for a change!

You reminded me to be more consistent with my Bible studies. :thumbsup2

We are working on making ours bigger, that is something we will try this coming year.

I weigh about the same as you, I'm at about 125, I want to loose 10 lbs also, want to get to the 115 mark. I'd be very hapy if I got there by the end of March for our Disney trip, but if I'm close I won't complain, but I'd like to be there by the middle of June for sure! Good luck, maybe we can do this together. :thumbsup2

I like the goal oriented part, I think when we set goals and also accomplish them it makes for a happier life.

I don't make them. It's the perfect set-up for failure and making yourself feel like crap when it doesn't work imho.

Last year I made a promise to myself to get out more- say yes to invitations more often.
Well now I am exhausted. After a year of parties I am ready to go back into my cave. So I guess that's my resolution-be less social. :rotfl2:

  1. Not kill my husband during the second half of this pregnancy, him taking full-time college classes, me taking part-time classes, moving into a new home, him working full-time and my working part-time.
  2. Use my 12 weeks of maternity leave to get myself into shape
  3. To NOT use my 12 weeks of maternity leave to become a bum, but to instead get our new house very organized or at the least: unpacked.
  4. To pay off all debt, except for mortgage and student loans, by the end of February (:rotfl: we'll see, I might need to add the car in with the mortgage and loans!)

First of all I will be celebrating an anniversary on New Years that I never thought I would make it to. I will be smoke free for one year on that day!! :dance3: So I now know that I CAN accomplish the changes I want to make if I set my mind to it.

I want to
1. pay down our debt and up our savings.
2. lose weight by eating healthy and exercising.
3. keep my home cleaner and more organized which will bring down my stress level and help me stick to #2
