New Years Fantasy Ballyhoo Bash 2012-2013

Morgan - Universal is bigger, has more rides, Harry Potter world, and is closer to the Orlando airport. Busch Gardens has animals, in addition to roller coasters and other rides and it's closer to the beach (but still a good drive.) Out of the two, I prefer Universal even though I live near Busch Gardens.

Congrats on the great haul at the baby shower. You will need probably every single thing you got.

Absolutly agree with Mean_Queen :goodvibes

If needed to choose form Universal or Bush Gardens defently Universal is a top pick, specialy if never been there.

Bush Gardens is very nice but it's in Tampa, at least one hour drive from Orlando.

Harry Potter park is in Universal.

Also any of the parks are a big difference "people volume" wise before or after our cruise, but you might not get e christmas decorations after the cruise. :sad1:

Just As a tip Portofino Bay Hotel in Universal is awsome, and it's pet friendly :rotfl:

Wishing everyone a safe and Happy New Year!

It won't be long until we are ringing in 2013 next year!!! :cool1:

party:HAPPY NEW YEARparty:

Just think: next year at this time, we will be celebrating New Year's on the Fantasy......DISNEY style!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season:santa:

Morgan and I finally finalized our vacation plan for this upcoming trip: 7 days at WDW followed by a 7 day NYE cruise followed by 4 days at Universal. We will stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort at WDW and the Pacific Royal Resort at Universal. Has anyone stayed at either of these resorts? We have always stayed at Port Orleans Riverside while at WDW so this will be new for us.

I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful NYE......Welcome 2012!!!

Happy New Year! We had fun last night but I know next year will be much more fun on the cruise. Your plans sound good. I have stayed at Caribbean Beach before. It's a very large and spread out resort because it's used for conventions. It's much bigger than either Port Orleans so you will have quite a few stops for the Disney buses. And if you plan to eat there, try to get a room near the food court or it will be a trek on buses to eat. When we stayed, we ended up just eating at the park we were at rather than take a bus to the front of the resort.

Happy New Year - Thouse are grat plans - don't forguet Sea World (Kraken and Manta rides are two of the best) it's best reached from Universal area.

Hi Wild Bunch in my opinion it all comes down to your group.

Small children and young teens are more into a Christmat fun when older youth's are more of the NYE celebration party till dawn kind.

And of course, there's the price.

Just to note today The Fantasy was docked out with horn blowing and fire works. :cool1:

We chose to do the New Year's rather than Christmas because it'd be way too hard to get all those Christmas morning gifts for the kids onto the cruise. We plan to do the Christmas one once the kids get older and have less quantity of gifts. Plus, we spend Christmas with our families but New Year's is for fun with friends.

Yeah, just booked this cruise today. I had a ton of points to off load so here we come! We figured we christened the Dream's first NYE so we might as well do the Fantasy's first NYE. Plus the 5 night was just too darn short.

It will be me, DH (Gregg) and DD16 (Rachel). My other DD will be home from college and she doesn't want to go.

If I can find someone from Maryland to fly back with my DD, DH and I would love to do a B2B on 1/5/13 but that is such a long shot.

:cool1: Welcome SnowWhite2 :cool1:

I THINK Me and my mom (ShannonR) Meet you on the 2008 Christmas Magic Cruise???

But Anyways! Has anyone Found out there Staterooms yet?
Ours is 7620 and 7622 :woohoo:

Im So Exited!!! :dance3:

The Caribbean Beach Resort has been our resort of choice for our past few Disney trips. It is a great resort, spacious rooms (as spacious as you can get in a standard size hotel room). I especially love the themed "islands" and the one main island, in which check-in/out is located as well as the shops and dining of the resort. The only downside is depending where you are located within the resort, you have to walk to the mainland to get to the drink station and dining. Some say the walk is too far, others like myself absolutely love the scenic route. There are also internal shuttle buses that take you from "island" to "island"

I love staying there! And the newly rennovated pool is amazing! :thumbsup2

Wow a B2B with the Fantasy nice :rotfl:

My gosh, it's really slow here :cool2: Where is everyone :confused3

Don't think for a minute that 11.5 months is very long away :cool1:

The way I see it it's only 9 months for final payment to be due :scared1: and 10 months to start booking port adventures :yay:

The ship is filling up quite fast I think, the most staterooms are only in deks 3 to 5. Upper decks are getting scarse. And of course Concierge Suites.

Fun Fact:

If you go to DCL web page and start to work on a quote select Concierge with Verandah then choose category 00T

There you will see that the 1st and 2nd passengers pay US $ 19,199.96 EACH I know one thing we'll be getting the same shrimps at dinner.

And the 3rd passenger pay's US $ 1,841.00

So as of now I'm offering myself to those poor families looking for a 3rd passenger for this suit. Any Cruise date, sailing anywhere too, and you will hardly notice me, I promise. Can also fit a 4th and a 5th passengers which have the same rate. :rotfl2:

Oh almost forgot, there is a roumor going around about maybe a Med Cruise in 2013 which maybe released this weekend pixiedust:
