Well, I am sure this has been asked over and over again ~

We will be at WDW December 23 thru Jan 2. We have never been there for NYE but we have been there for Christmas and I know the crowds are there. We are trying to decide what park to be at for NYE..we are me (33) dh (35) and 2 daughters 10 1/2 and 15. First I thought MK, then I thought I read about MGM having a big ordeal but then someone mentioned Epcot. So I am confused and looking for your tips and advice as to what goes on at different parks NYE. Someone said Mickey counts down at midnite to bring in the NY at MK. Thats the info I am looking for.....like what goes on for NYE.

Is there a website I should look at? Disney.com doesnt give much info either. I thought this place was the best to ask.

I know it will be wall to wall people I guess no matter what park on NYE, but I am trying ot make the best decision for us/girls.

I know the DISers will come thru :)

Thanks a bunch--Stacy

We were there about three years ago for NYE and were not able to get into any of the parks. We had been warned that MK and Epcot would close early, but that MGM would be available longer. By 10A, MGM was also closed. We didn't want to go to Animal Kingdom, so we went to Sea World instead.

We were there again last year and went to MK early in the day, with no intention of staying for midnight. When they handed out hats and blowers (at 4P, I think it was) I was READY to get out of there. I don't like crowds that much, and the noise was scaring DS5.

It was a little sad to be back in the condo at midnight trying to see fireworks through the trees, but the park was not somewhere we wanted to be with out kids and teens.

And the bonus was that there was nobody in Animal Kingdom on New Years morning, so we breezed right through all the rides and shows.

Hi Stacy - I wish I had more information for you. I could definitely tell you to stay clear of DTD. DH and I were there for NYE for our honeymoon and it was CHAOS with drunk, beligerant (sp?) people everywhere. Like Sheila said, the park crowds would be to unbearable for me. If we were to be there with family this year, perhaps we'd look into some activity on or near the Boardwalk. Perhaps doing things all the other folks wouldn't be doing? Maybe we'd get dinner at the Epcot Resort area and do some Boardwalk activities and then watch Illuminations from the Beach Club?

GOOD LUCK!
