Does anyone have a suggestion for a good Disney restaurant to go to on New Years Eve? My party has 5 adults and four children, 5 to 10 years old.:stitch:

Thanks

We were there last NYE w/no ressies. We had a 3 & 5 yr old w/us & just wanted LAID back. We went to Wolfgang puck express @DTD near the World of Disney. Hardly ANYONE was there around 7 pm. Great food--casual outdoor seating--great weather.

Again, you didn't say what type you wanted, casual/dressie, just keep in mind the PARKs will be CROWDED! I had NEVER seen a que line for the Mexican pavillion ride!

It was our first NYE trip & were ready for crowds so just went w/the flow. We go a couple of times a year & just wanted laid back for this meal.

This past NYE DD(23) and I had a 7PM (we were going to MK the next AM) dinner at Ohana. We were able to see and hear the holiday version of Wishes from our table. They also have activities for kids.

We have been twice for NYE and day. Decide if you want to go to a park or not. This will tell you where you want adr(park or resort). If you plan on doing MK on NYE you should get there at opening and plan on staying there as it has closed to all guests by 10am (including resort guests) consistantly. Epcot and DHS(MGM) can be done with park hopping, but it is dependent on the time and crowd. In 2003-4 we chose to go to MGM(DHS) in am and then go to Epcot around 4pm with adr around 8pm at teppanyaki(japan). epcot was crowded, but we had no problem park hopping there. It get very crazy with huge crowds, but Illuminations are fantastic that night and there are many outdoor music venues. 2004-5 we went to MGM and stayed the whole time for NYE, we had adr at BD at 8pm and saw the last fantastmic and then took boat to back to Swan(we stayed there that year) around 11:30pm and watched the Fantasy in the Sky. MAKE YOUR ADR NOW FOR NYE most of us have done this at 180 days already so your choices will be limited! This year, we are going to (DHS) in the am and then leaving the parks for dinner at 9pm at YC and watch the fireworks from the BC/YC area then head back to OKW. The best thing is that New Year's Day is very quiet touring in the morning thru early afternoon, I would even do MK that day. Have fun.

We have that same reservation time at 'Ohana this coming New Year's Eve! Whee! I'm going to request a table by the window if we can get it -- we're really hoping to see the fireworks from there!

I hope that they grant your wish!:wizard:

You're so sweet, Teacher510!

New Year's Eve is our actual anniversary -- our 20th! Just being there is good enough for me, but I never even would have known to request a window table if it weren't for these boards. If we get it, great; it not, it's no big deal. :)

Right now for NYE dining the true answer is any place that you can get a reservation for.

I totally agree here! I didn't make all of mine when I should have at 180 days out and when I called last week, many of the Epcot restaurants were booked solid for dinner. I couldn't get Le Cellier all week from 12/26-1/2 and NYE Coral Reef was booked as well. I was able to get in Teppan Edo, but I only have party of 2. Call TODAY and make yours!:thumbsup2

Thanks for your replies everyone. Guess I'd better pack some cheese sandwiches then.............

Chappyman, you may have more luck getting a TS reservation at lunchtime, then plan to do a counter service meal for dinner.

Or try the resort TS restaurants rather than a particular park.

I hope you're able to get something that suits you!

We actually had a 7:30 ADR and arrived before 7 and were seated almost immediately. I would also think that the park restaurants might be busier. If you try Poly early you might luck out!

Thanks again for the info, I cant believe how helpful everyone has been. I have managed to get Artist Pointe at WL, 5.30pm. We've been there before and it was rather good. Wont need the sandwiches after all.....
