Good morning, Magic Mateys,
I've been busy trying to find Chad a decent and reasonably-priced apartment in Rome, as he leaves in May for classes there. He's looking to get an internship at the U.S. consulate there, so he's about to embark on an exciting and totally unfamiliar chapter in his life. He's been listening to Italian language CDs in his car, to at least have a rudimentary grasp of the language when he gets there. He's fluent in Spanish, so that helps, as the two languages are similar. I'm so happy for him, that he's gotten this far in his dream to do government work. He graduates with his Masters in Political Science from St. John's University next year, and then on to his PhD. He's been working so hard, classes full time and two part-time jobs, and I pray he achieves all that he's been dreaming of since he was a little kid. He really looks to be on the right track.
My Jesse is another story. If anyone knows how to help me get him to keep his room clean and do his homework, I'd be very grateful!!!!!!!!!!!!! He'll be 16 in April, and I was planning a sort-of male "sweet sixteen" party, but we decided to keep costs down and just have a family/friends party at home. He's fine with that, as he knows we have a cruise to pay for. I've been looking at reception halls/restaurants to throw a big party, but it would cost a few thousand, so we'll just wait until his 21st and then go all out, like we did for Chad. It's actually ridiculous the way sweet sixteens are celebrated around these parts, for girls AND boys, with parties like wedding receptions. Thank goodness he's such a laid-back kid, who'd rather hang out with his friends with pizza and soda instead of doing the My Super Sweet Sixteen thing. To be honest, I was really wanting to do a big party more for my own satisfaction, to feel like I'm doing my best for him, but he really isn't into the idea, so there's no disappointment on his part, and I save a ton of money.
I have some housework to keep me busy today, and then looking forward to the weekend of just lounging around.
So how's everyone doing?
Wow...it's really all coming together for Chad....that is all soooo exciting!!!! As far as Jesse, this won't work till he gets his license...but Ryan knows his grades need to stay up & his room needs to be cleaned (at least on occasion) to keep his car...that we gave him & that we pay gas & insurance for! He's wanting to go to a teen club tonite...they have no school today...so he was cleaning his room last night....without me saying a word

And i'm so glad that he is okay with the pizza / soda party for friends/family!! I've never understood why there needs to be these huge overpriced soirees to celebrate something....i'm so much more just close friends/family as well. for the last 3 bds 15 - 16 & 17 - Ryan has wanted nothing more than to just have his friends over for 18-24 hours of pizza - soda - chips - XBOX & now this year - air soft fights!!!

that is so much more doable & no stress either

what day in april is Jesse's BD?
