BTW I meant to say that I've completed my first ever pre-trippie for our upcoming September cruise. Should you wish to take a peek, there's a link in my sig...

And after that piece of shameless self-promotion, I wish you all a very good day... :thumbsup2

If you haven't read Karen's TR yet....DO IT!! its' great!

Aisling this picture is for you - in case you miss people waving to us next time

1st of all - no one under age 16 can take this tour. We can't destroy the magic. So if you are under 16 don't read this:rotfl2:

Using a discount will save a lot of money. My AP expired on the 6th & that's when I decided to do this. The cost after discount $169. Saved $30:thumbsup2 AP's are good to have. lot's of discounts.

It was a 7 hour tour. (sounds like the intro to Gilligan's Island) lunch was included + tip at Mama Melrose at MGM. The food was delicious but the deserts are to die for.

We met at the Epcot Guest Relations. Tour allows 20 we had 18. If you decide to do this without ressies - you meet there & hope there is room. If not call ahead.

We were transported by the Mears (ac) bus. Bottles of water are available all day.

The backstage area is totally different than the park. Also, it doesn't take near as long to get to an area as it does to walk the park.

1st stop - American Pavillion. By the way at each stop we are told little tidbits of info. The making, or perception or just hints of how something works. We go backstage (as in backlot). We went downstairs to see how the mechanism works. How all the characters are moved & raised & lowered. How they are made.

Next stop - Epcot Cast bldg.. locker room, break room, makeup area & even where they pick up their costumes. Looks like a gigantic cleaners, beauty shop. And the locker area is bigger than a bus terminal.

Then to the bus & MGM & went to where the costumes are made. The computer area where they are designed.

Then to the actual costuming area where the seamstresses are. We were given Info on the materials, fabrics & dyes. It was like on the discovery channel of "How it's made"

Then we went to lunch. It was kind of cool to see the look on peoples faces when we walked out of the backstage area.

Off to the Magic Kingdom. Even though we were backstage & on the bus, each park we went into they came on the bus & checked our bags.

Oh-oh-oh. I know where our Xmas tree is right now:lmao: . We went to the Xmas warehouse. where ALL the trees & decorations are (including DCL Wonder & Magic & castaway cay.) And of course the resorts. This place is huuge. They checkout all the lights & stuff that's on the trees. Make wreaths and on and on.

Next to the florist. The resorts lobbies flowers, weddings, gifts & anything else you have ever seen in any park are there.

We next went to central shops
1. paint 2. maintenance 3. animatronic workshop 4.ride vehicle icons & seats & 5. even where they rehab the park buses.
That's at least 5 of the shops we saw.

Utilidors were next. or tunnels. This is the 1st floor of Magic Kingdom. Main St is the 2nd floor & the rooms above the stores are the 3rd floor.

She, Monica our guide, then took us to Main st. The parade was about to start. She pointed out some more little secrets. (can't tell you).

We then went to a special spot to watch the parade.

I happen to be standing next to a castmember that was a parade manager. We got to talking & he told me a few things about the parade.

We went back to the bus. We got our pins. Pins that can't be bought anywhere. Only for people that take the tour.
We were then taken back to Epcot.

This is one of tours that doesn't require you to buy a park ticket. However, if you want to go back to the park you must get a ticket. Unless, you have an AP.

Karen - One of the jobs I would like to do at Disney would be Meet & Greet.
You said you would work at the Xmas store. Now, there is a second xmas store that you could have a choice of. That is unless you would rather work with the public.

Enough for one posting. I hope everyone enjoyed this.

VERY COOL Jill - definitely something to look forward to once DS turns 18....he would really enjoy all that

The paper you gave me said age 16 and under aren't allowed Mom...I'm cornfused :confused3

Hello to everybody else lurking out there

very cool...what day is your 'birthday'?

Thank you jade, I am glad you like them. I am sure your son will be fine but sending prayers and pixie dust anyway

Just priced out flights from Monterey (about 20 minutes from my office) to Ontario (near the Disney Studios) and they are $59/each way:woohoo: the drive from my house to Mickey's house is only about 5 hours - but the total 10 hrs when it's only a 48 hour trip is too much driving....so hoping my friend (Patti) & DD want to fly too. We'll meet up with Patti's daughter Vanessa (she works at Disney Studios) so will get a tour of the office & the studios - that will be WAY cool!!!

Nan~yes you should definitely try out Santana Row....i've only been there to Maggiano's & Xmas shopping....so this night at the Hotel V & the different bars should be a great time....

Congrats on the great rate!

Only one more week and I can relax for awhile...

What day is your birthday Brenda? John's is on the 6th of October.

it is 10/20....DD's is 10/10 (she'll be 27)...i'll be "40" again - i LOVE being 40!!!

I will never be forty! or thirty...or even 29 ;)

I've been stuck at 18 for a couple decades now

and refuse to budge :lmao:

The sucky part about today, I've been stuck at Bella's all day (our girl's shop)...the good thing? I've got three new chapters up in my trippie today and may even be able to finish it before I go home tonight :woohoo:

Great trippie Jill! Sounds an awesome tour! :thumbsup2 I think if DD and I manage the KTTK without mishap, we'll maybe think about doing it on our May trip... :goodvibes

Hey Jade, sorry to hear about RT - dental issues are the worst - but delighted that you're going for DVC on Tuesday! Which resort are you buying into? :woohoo:

Brenda, I love being in my 40's! In my 20's I had two small kids, a full-time job and spent most of my time rushed off my feet. Happy times but exhausting! My 30's were unsettling - I had another baby which had greater complications and it seemed like we moved house constantly!

Nowadays, life is g-r-e-a-t with more time for me which I feel makes me a better wife and mother...

And on that note, do any of us really know ourselves??? To find out, I just did this quiz and it turns out I am agile, matured and senseless! Now if that doesn't make me the ideal cruise mate, I don't know what does... ;)

Can anyone else handle the truth about themselves..? :lmao:

well he endedd up haveing 5 more cavitys. they got 3 done and then said they couldnt do the rest he was moving o muc

Now i have to go oct 10th and have him be sadated..im so scared, they say no food or drink for 8hours, or else it could be fatel..thats so scary to me..but i just will make sure no drink and food and no sickness

I hated hearing the word fatel it totaly frecked me out i had tears in my eyes for about hour after that.
He is verry grogy today, from themeds they tryed.

ny ways he will be fine i know it I just hate it becouse i kept telling my self he didnt need to go to dentist. i think i kept telling my self that so we wouldnt have to deal with any of this.
Idk, i just thinkign over and over if i woulda just kept up the dental work even when not needed..idk maybe wouldnt be so bad now.

(i was told didnt need to go back to dentist till first toth fell out)after his 1year check up
His first tooth fell out and i took him to dentist few months later.
I had no idea all the troubel ited be

Here's what my quiz came up with - I like it :thumbsup2
