Hi everyone,

Are you all enjoying what's left of summer? I know Tiggie is! :goodvibes

Chad started Graduate School yesterday, at St. John's University. Jesse starts 10th grade on Tuesday, but we got his program today, and I had to laugh. He's a handball player, plays in the parks when not on XBox, and he signed up for handball for gym. Well, his schedule has him down for weight- training instead! For those who remember, and those who have yet to meet my boy, he's a 15 year-old tall, skinny beanpole! He's not too happy about having to lift weights every morning in school, but who knows, maybe it's meant to be, to put some muscle mass on him. :confused3 :rotfl2: My baby!

I'm going to check out cruisecritic now, and see if there's anything new about our ports for next year.

Nan, you're in my thoughts and heart.

hi guys & thanks for all the prayers and pixiedust:

mom's biopsy scheduled for morning 9/7/07, and my sister scheduled her eye surgery for afternoon 9/6/07. so.....I've called her doctor to figure it out for us. she can't do both of these so close. the eye surgery is under general anesthesia, so a bit more of a worry than I had thought. just hate it that we have to wait so long to get this stuff taken care of. kinda feel like we are in limbo.

other news, school is full swing. Molly joined the band. She is going to use my flute from hmmmmm many years ago  Molly is loving middle school and I'm getting used to it. I miss the interaction with parent friends, but I still get to see those friends when I pick up Wil. He is happy with his class(es) english and spanish. his english teacher is a Giants fan :woohoo: and his Spanish teacher a Dodger fan :scared1: should be for a fun year of :stir:

I see we have a few days off school in sept and oct, I might just have to plan a quickie DL trip to cheer myself up....

Sounds like the perfect medicine Nan!

I may go to Florida instead of new York next month now...Aisling, if you've been lurking on the threadkiller thread you know this already.

Rose said the hotel was 300 for the night and seeing wicked would be 95 for each of us. I figured the flight to Florida is only 108 right now I might as well go there.

Aisling...Ryan started weightlifting in 9th grade (for football)...he is still tall & thin (6.1 & 128 lbs)...but boy does he have some MUSCLES on his arms! he has yet to build up his legs & chest...but in time (i'm hoping)....

Nan - still sending prayers & wishes that all goes well....off to bed soon...going to be another really busy day tomorrow for month end & the long wkend - as much as i like them...sometimes they just make the next week a little worse....

Tigg....is that Samantha Brown you're watching on the travel channel? I sure like watching her! i would SOOOO love her job as well!!!

paid our deposits for Italy trip today....yippee!! that's only 9 months away so that will help with the wait for our cruise for sure!!!

Whereabouts in Italy are you visiting, Brenda? It's been years since we vacationed there (it was my Mother's favourite country so I travelled there as a child) and DH goes to Milan on business regularly but I never seem to get there nowadays...

Went to see Rush Hour3 with Samuel yesterday afternoon - loved the fact that one of the 'fight' scenes was set in a restaurant (Jules Verne, Eiffel Tower)that DH and I visited exactly 10 years ago! :cloud9:

We start in Rome...go to Assisi...then to Siena, Florence, Pisa & finish in Venice...this is DS's HS trip - the 'juniors' go each summer between their Jr & Sr. years....so i'm going with the class. DH & I went last fall - and visited most of these same cities (no Pisa or Venice) but did go south to Pompeii....It is a LOVELY country...and can definitely see me going back a 3rd time....

Hi everyone,

I just booked the NYE cruise for Dec 27, 2008. Going would be my husband and myself. We are currently trying to have a baby.. and if successful might have a baby w/us for the cruise, hopefully a 6 mth old. That said.. DCL let me book my ficticious baby in our room!!! lol.. when asked the baby's gender.. I said. the baby isnt a baby yet.. I dont know:confused3 .... The DCL guy was nice and said.. what gender would you LIKE the baby to be.. I told him to put me down for a girl :rolleyes1 !!! LOL!!!

Ok.. all that might be too much info.. I KNOW.. However.. we are totally excited for the trip!!!:cheer2:

So to recap.. for sure on this cruise
Me (34 presently... 35 for the cruise date)
Hubby (33 presently 34 for the cruise date)

We got room 2562 cat 9

:welcome: aboard!!! Great to have the two (or possibly three) of you along... ;)

Have you cruised with DCL before, Kelly?

WELCOME Kelly and DH and possible new Disney baby!!! Wishing for you a baby to bring along on the trip! Hang out with us here on the boards for the next year and a half...we've been having a lot of fun so far!!!

Hi Kelly!
I'm wishing you tons of luck on having that little baby with you when we cruise. Grim, would you care to jump in?;)

Tig, I haven't lurked on the Threadkiller board for a while, so I didn't know about your change in plans. I'm hoping you'll come up to NYC even for just a day someday.

Hiya Kaz! Wow, you sure are a traveller! You, too, Brenda! Someday I hope to get to England. Right now, I'm just focusing on the cruise. We had a Universal trip booked for Christmas, but I cancelled due to outrageous airfares, like $600 pp. But just to show you how warped my financial mind is, a few days ago I booked the Presidential Suite at the Contemporary for the night before the cruise, at $3,000 for the night!:scared1: I didn't tell Mel, and I was planning on telling him not to worry, that I had a good code!:rotfl2: I'm going to cancel today, as even the kids, who I thought would be excited about it, told me it wasn't worth the money. Darn those rotten kids for bringing me back to reality!

Good morning all,

Welcome Kelly. It will be fun to hear about all of your baby adventures before we cruise. As you can probably tell we all have baby and kid experience.

Nan, I have added you and your mom in my prayers. It sound like you all have such a great relationship and I'm sure she is very thankfull to have her daughters there for her.

Colleen, it sounds like you are having a great time. Wish I was there!

Jade, I hope all is well. I haven't seen you post in awhile.

I know that I haven't posted much myself and now that work has slowed down I will join in more. The other reason I haven't posted is because Jeff and I are still struggling and if we don't make it then we won't be cruising. My spirits are up though, and that's because I know what I do and don't want and what I will and won't tolerate. This may sound selfish, but I need to be myself (because I like me) and happy or others around me won't be. I would rather not be with someone or to stay with them to make us both unhappy. This does not make for a good life for either one of us. Enough negative, I will be more positive in my future posts.

Debbie, OMG that isn't selfish at all! So many women, and men, stay in marriages that just aren't working, and it's very depressing. I wish you and Jeff the BEST, whatever that may be. I'm so looking forward to meeting you, if not on the cruise, then when I finally make it out to California. But as of now, you ARE cruising.:thumbsup2 :cheer2:

This will be my 5th Disney cruise, and my husbands 2nd Disney cruise. I have done a St. Patrick's Day cruise (and my friend Sue and I planned and hosted a Pub Crawl on our day at sea) and a Halloween cruise...

We were supposed to be cruising in April during school vaca w/my step children. We had a problem w/their mother getting permission and such to take them to Disney this past August :headache: (just got home like 2 weeks ago), and decided against taking them this year or next. She is a difficult woman to deal with.. and I didnt have the energy for this upcoming trip.. Then we figured if we were successful getting pregnant.. I wouldnt be allowed to sail anyway.

After realizing I had to cancel or change that original cruise date, I decided to research the rates and such for the NYE cruise... and I was SHOCKED to see that there was still rooms:yay: .. and ones that I wanted.. So.. w/o consulting my hubby (i reverted back to my single girl days), I contacted DCL and changed my ressie from April 08 to Dec 08..

I told DH last night about the change, and that it would just be for two unless we were successful.. and he was totally psyched and onboard with my changes. He loves his children dearly:love: .. and would love for them to be able to go.. however.. he feels bad about the treatment I have been receiving recently for planning these "extravagant" vacations. (her words.. not mine or his) We have been granted permission like every 3 yrs..

Debbie, unless its totally out of the question for you to cruise without Jeff you should come either way IMO.

Welcome kelly! I think our crew is good luck for those trying, grim and minniegrl came home with their own little souvenir from our last cruise. FYI.

Aisling, I will come up and see you! I have to, I owe you that much my friend.

I still haven't told John of my change of plans. He will be fine with it I'm sure, its all in the timing with him.

Karen, Nan, jade, grim, mom and all you other lurkers out there, happy Friday!

Hiya Kaz! Wow, you sure are a traveller! You, too, Brenda! Someday I hope to get to England...
Hop on over the pond whenever you can, Aisling! Come and stay with us - we'll have a great time... :thumbsup2

Hey, Debbie! I don't know what to say other than you are so right and it's essential you do what's best for you first and foremost. Being selfish now but I would love to meet you, hon, so please, please come on the cruise if you possibly can... :goodvibes

This will be my 5th Disney cruise...
Wow, Kelly! You're a cruisin' veteran! :thumbsup2 This NYE shindig will be my 5th cruise too but in a bizarre twist of cruise-booking I've only actually been on one 3-nighter so far - just got a gazillion booked! :lmao: I blame the DCL website... ;)

Aisling....OMG...$3000 or ONE night???? boy am i glad the kids brought you to your senses:lmao: It's not much more than that i'm paying for Ryan & I each for our 12-day trip to Italy...of course it's high school trip an we travel by bus once we arrive there....but still...$3000 is another whole cruise....hummm...what else can i think of...a couple of totally stylin' outfits with ALL the accessories!!!

Debbie....sure wishing the very best for you....but yes you must think of yourself and the overall relationship....a bad relationship isn't good for anyone...and there's more to the relationship than the 2 of you. I agree with everyone....that if it's at ALL possible for you to come on the cruise with or without DH...PLEASE do...there's a few of us crusing single so you'll have plent of friends to hang with...

Wishing a great wkend to everyone...DS has 1st real game tomorrow - in Carmel - should be nice there...it was 104 or so in Gilroy & 75ish along the coast today....so hoping for similar tomorrow!!

I've been looking at Nordstroms.com, my favorite store, and it looks like the 70s are back in fashion for this fall!
