Turn in early New Years Eve and have the parks to yourself several hours early New Years day+.

(Of course won't work for those who are at WDW to celebrate New Years but a nice surprise for guests whose schedule brings them to WDW over New years but don't put priority on being up late NYE)

Perfect weather, I estimated above 60 degrees by park opening.
Day guests could make rope drop easily (we tried Magic Kindom)
* Parks opened at 8 AM
* Express monorail running by 7:15
* Turnstiles opened 7:30
* People waiting for rope drop not further back than Main St. is wide.
Most rides under 15 min wait before 10
Most rides under 30 min wait before noon
Much of parade route far from wall to wall people, some areas only two deep
(After 1 PM parade ride waits jumped to 30 min most rides, 60 min some rides)
Was told that overflow parking at Epcot for MK not needed.

+Unfortunately this level of attendance could result in later (9 AM) park opening next time.

But no last minute hotel rooms under $100. incl. tax New Years Eve, within 20 miles of WDW!

Post done at Disney Quest, at WDW 'til 1/7.

New Year's Day is usually a bit quieter a Disney. Many families are starting to head home for school and work Monday.
