Hi all

I am leaving my job when we break up for Christmas. I have been here for over 11 years and have found myself moving away from programing, which I enjoy. So i am off to pastures new to get back to full time programming.

A bit nervous as it will be only my 3rd job since leaving school in 85.

So spare me a thought on Jan 3rd

Have a great Christmas eveyone

Steve

As you said you, in your new job you will be doing something you enjoy. Which is always a good thing at work. Best wishes for the 3rd.

Hope you have a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Best of luck in your new jpb - you know you've done the right thing.

It's a great time of year to leave and then start a new job (I left Xmas Eve and started on the Jan 3rd once!)

Hope your new job is all you're wishing for!

Good luck

Well done you!! I can remember the thoughts of dread when I left a job I'd been doing for 9 years (journalism) to move into travel, best move I ever made but remember the first couple of weeks in a new job is always a bit crap 'cos its so difficult being the new person, asking stupid questions etc, never mind I'm sure you'll have a great time
Merry Christmas

Wishing you all the best in your new job.
Hope you aren't too busy to still visit the boards from time to time.

Merry Xmas!

LOL had forgotten about your many different jobs :rotfl:

Best of luck with the new job Steve. I also think it's great to be starting the new year afresh with a new job. GOOD LUCK :cheer2:

Good luck Steve :)

My job seems to involve far less programming than I would like at the moment too :( I'm not about to up and leave just yet though as there isn't too much of an alternative in this area of the country and I don't want to move as I like it here.

Good on you for making the move though :teeth:

Good luck Steve! It's always a bit daunting when you leave somewhere you have worked for ages. I wish you well :)

Thanks everyone fo rthe good wishes, have a great christmas one and all.

Hi alan,

Where about in the uk r u?. I found it difficult to find a programming job, they seem to come round in fits and starts, too many programmers and not enough jobs, then 6 months later too few programmers and too many jobs.

Cheers

steve
