DH and I just purchased a DVC contract from TTS, we are waiting for the closing date for November 3. We want to go for 9 nights in June. Is it usually difficult to find a room at that time? We will own at SSR but would like to stay at BLT or GF. What are thoughts about split stays? We would be doing studios.

I don't think you'll have trouble with lake view BLT . GF new and exciting may be a little harder. DW and I doing a split stay in studios this Dec , BLT and BWV . Not fond of a split stay with bigger group however. Our home resort is OKW and coincidently are waiting on a closing appx Nov 3rd with some add on points. Gotta get thru ROFR first . Good luck on yours!pixiedust:

Thanks, outs is also in ROFR, it's just the four of us, DH and my two young DDs. We were thinking about checking out a couple places. Thanks. Hoping to be at GF or BLT to be on the monorail. We spend most of our time at MK.

THoping to be at GF or BLT to be on the monorail. We spend most of our time at MK.
Don't forget that Villas of Wilderness Lodge is just a quick BOAT ride to the MK main gate. (Less walking than the monorail from VGF!)

If you have your points and account set up at 7 months and get online right at 8 am you have a chance for a GFV in June. Don't expect to keep getting them once the resort is sold out however. Many owners plan on using the studios and there are only 47 possible. BLT is likely at 7 months out for Lakeview. Once you hit 6.5 months that is less likely to be open however. I hope that you don't plan on staying at these resorts throughout the year however with your SSR points because there are times you will have trouble. SSR is very nice however and we do stay there when we book after 7 months (even when we have choices other than our home resorts.)

Exactly as rlovew said.

Grand Floridian is about 20% sold, and 75% declared. That's a whole lot of points that is up for grabs at the 7 month mark.

Now is probably the easiest time to book at the VGF for that reason. It will get harder as more is sold. It will probably then ease up some as owners there are more apt to "trade out" to stay somewhere else, 5 years down the road or so.

Just be ready to go at 8 am at the 7 month mark.

BLT studios are very small. Most of the space is in the entryway, the bathroom and the kitchenette, leaving not that much for the living area. When you open the sleeper sofa (double sized), it is almost right up against the slider window and the queen sized bed. VWL studio would be larger. Same set up (queen bed and double sleeper sofa).
