Thanks to everyone who has contributed to all 106 pages of info! It's been a tremendous resource for planning our trip!

Does anyone know if they offer hair wraps at WL? They offered them last year at the All-Star Movies and DD didn't want it then. She remembered it (the fancy hair stuff) and asked me if they do it at WL? Did I mention she's 5? A future DIS'er for sure!

Whoo-Hoo - I'll be there tomorrow and I can't wait!

I too was wondering about the hair wraps. My daughters want to have their whole heads done like they do in the carribean. Any ideas on what that will cost or if they even do that?

Peachgirl

I've been wondering the same thing. They haven't been on the boards since 10-25. I miss HumphreytheBear! Please come back HumphreytheBear.

HI!
WE just got back Oct 23rd - and DD-8 still has her hair wrap in!
It is right next to the pool.
The price is per inch + beads.
DD's hair is to her shoulders and with beads it was like $30.
Remember to have them start it underneather by the ear-
I have heard nightmares about baldspots from those starting on top of the head! The lady we had automatically did it behind the ear wich a-cost less, and b-makes it hideable so my DD can keep it in (she goes to catholic school that won't allow them - and I wouldn't like that look for holidays)
Hope it helps!
Don't forget to ask to be FLAG FAMILY it is AWESOME! I can E-mail pics if you want to see!

Hi Everyone. My husband and I just got back from vacation. We stayed at WL Nov 1 for our first anniversary. We were upgraded to a Jr. Suite. It was wonderful!!!! We were in the south wing. There was an exit right by our room for us to walk out. It was a short walk across the bridge to the boat dock for MNSSHP. WL is a very beautiful resort!! We definitely thank all the CMs that helped to make it such a wonderful trip!!

MIVVERS, NJPHY1, DISLUV..

We will also be at the WL from Dec 11-18th on our Honeymoon

We will be there 12/7- 12/11 (our 3 year annivs is 12/10)

DH FINALLY agreed to pay for an upgraded room if we can get one at check-in. Now, why couldn't he have said that BEFORE our tickets arrived??? Anyway, I plan on faxing the room controller a request before we go and mention that we would definitely be willing to pay the difference if they have a better room available. Sooo...does anyone know what category the rooms are that look out onto the pool and/or geyser? Also, any idea if there are king beds in that area? I just have no idea what to ask for. Thanks for any info!!

I've taken a break from this thread for a while (Since we've returned from our latest trip at the end of September) and Jeremy (DisLUV) - it's nice to see a familar face still around here! If I remember correctly, Jeremy, you are from Ponchatula... My brother-in-law lives right around the corner from you in Springfield and my in-laws just moved up there too.

We've just made our next reservation for the end of Jan - beginning of Feb and now I'm getting excited all over again. We want to try out Port Orleans French Quarter this time - just b/c I want to see how close to New Orleans they've actually made the resort, but I think we will also stay at the WL the earlier part of our trip. The villa that we stayed in was absolutely incrediable.

Do y'all remember "AskMickey"? He/she is a castmember that works at the WL and I got the best villa in the whole hotel b/c of the strings that were pulled. I had no idea that I was going to love the WL Villas as much as I did. Has anyone seen AskMickey around lately?

I do not know the answer about the king beds, but I think that the view you would be looking for is a Courtyard view.
.
pepperidge...we have not seen humphreythebear or askmickey around for quite sometime. I know I really miss their input

I haven't seen them either! I wanted to send thanks there way if they had anything to do with my room! I think they sprinkled a little pixie dust on our ressie.

We booked standard view but that could not have been the standard view! We were in 4007 with views of the pool, waterfall and slightly obstructed views of the gyser and lake (trees;) )

So if you are being a lurker - thank you - thank you- thank you

For all of you just getting ready for your trips don't forget to ask about being flag family - very cool experience!

pattyT -

Could you see FW from your room? How far from the pool and boat docks were you? I have a 4 yr old and am trying to accomodate a MILLION requests for our standard room. Did you have 2 queens or a queen and a bunk? THANKS

Sounds like you received a "magical" upgrade to courtyard view! I believe "standard rooms" normally are overlooking the registration desk, or the service area.
NJPhyl...our DD4 loved our "lobby" room. It was a woodsview room directly above Whispering Canyons (Honestly, the noise wasn't bad at all!). DD4 enjoyed walking outside of the room with me and checking out the beautiful lobby, and eating Mickey Ice Cream bars!

I hope I dont forget to ask about that when we check in!! We are currently wondering what would be a good thing to plan for the day we arrive. Patty, what did you do on your first day arrival to WL???? Would love to hear and anyone else too! Getting closer now time is still going to slow!

We did Jennys in 2000... It was very good and you definitely get your money worth... We had to the pizza (OK for take out pizza), the turkey sandwiches (excellent and plentiful) and breakfast (very tasty also). Hope that helps!!

I can't believe it, 10 days and counting! I have a couple questions that hopefully someone can help me with.

*What type of toiletries (if any) can I expect to find in my room? I hate to pack anything I don't have to.

*Do all the rooms have hairdryers?

*How much are the mugs and what can I refill them with (I know it's here somewhere, but I can't find it). Can I refill them 24 hours a day or just during certain times?

*Do they or don't they charge for coffee packs if you ask mousekeeping for them? I've seen posts with answers both ways.

*What types of grocery items can I find in the onsite store? Can I buy a half gallon or gallon of milk when I arrive or should I stop before getting to WL?

*I've read about upgrades to concierge for an added charge if there are rooms available. We have a courtyard view reserved, so according to previous posters, we could expect to pay an extra $35/night if it is available. Here's my question...should I fax that in my request or wait until checking. We'll be arriving the Friday morning before Thanksgiving so I know that occupancy will be up the week we are staying. Also, from what I understand, view choice is not guaranteed. Is this correct? So we might get stuck in a standard view in concierge. I'm totally confused and don't know which way to go if concierge is offered. HELP!
