I read on these board that the resorts have available swim vest for the tykes. I would assume WL has these available also. Are these the type that would allow the child to swim unaided? That is, so I do not have to hold on to him the whole time in the pool. Also, will DS be allowed down the slide with the vest on?

Shafke,

I don't know about the swim wear, but I'm sure jealous that you only have 18 days to go.

:D

I would be curious too -
I already packed DS's special swimsuit and arm floaties - but they take up almost his whole suitcase!
I'd like to hear from anyone who has used them! Thanks!

Don't be too jealous. After I'm back and at the work grind, you'll still have a whole vacation to look forward to. Enjoy the planning, enjoy the vacation, and when its over, enjoy the memories.

edit:
Oh look, countdown is now under 18days. My how time flies.

Yes, they have the soft life vests- My 2 year old JUST learned to swim unaided in one this summer, my 5 year old does very well in them. Im not sure about the slide, but when we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal, those were the only life jackets they were allowed to wear going down the slide (I had bought my own and the lifeguard made my 5 year old change into one of theirs). I would imagine it would be the same rule.
So, depending on the age and ability of your child, yes, they can swim alone and unaided in them (you dont even have to get wet! LOL) and they can go down the slides in them at Universal.
Hope this helps!
BTW- we'll be there 10/11-10/25 maybe we'll see you!

We won't be too hard to miss. Its me DS, 4 and pregnant DW.

Greetings, "Shafke". It looks like we're both going to be at WL at the same time. My countdown clock here is almost in sync with yours!

The five of us (Grammy, Grampa (that's me), daughter, son-in-law and 10-year old grandson) are starting to get "antsy" now that it's so close.

We'll be flying in from Boston in the morning for 8 fun-filled days, so maybe our paths will cross along the way. You'll be able to spot us easily; we'll be the ones with the perpetual grins!! :teeth:

Enjoy your trip and we'll see you at the pool!!

I can't get another ps for Princess Breakfast at Epcot however and that screws up 2 early entry days! AUGH! Is it worth it! :( :D

Hi All....999ghosts does not work at the Wilderness Lodge anymore...He left for a great opportunity in Georgia....His post about the rooms here is very accurate as he was a Great Cast Member....

hi all,

Here's some more info about the new version of early entry, from Deb Wills' site.

We are leaving for the WORLD in four days. We are staying at the allstars music for four nights and then at the WL for three nights. All along I have been thinking about faxing a request for a fifth floor lobby room with an open balcony ,we have courtyard view, but now I think that maybe the view will be so far away from the stream.geyser and the lake that I am now thinking about a room near the lobby but down the hall a little but looking out to the stream and the pool. Has anyone been in either of thease areas?? Also I just saw that 999ghsts is no longer at the WL , we certainly will miss him or her. Thanks paulaken:Pinkbounc

room 5149 was a great courtyard view room
looking at the lodge as a big U with the middle/bottom of the U being the main building we were 1/2way down the right hand arm.
This looked down on the main pool, every night when it played we could see the Electric water parade from our balcony, we could see the geyser erupting
The 6th floor has enclosed balconies

Askmickey -- thanks for letting us know about 999ghosts. Happy to hear he has a good opportunity in Georgia. He was a generous person to share his knowledge of WL with us. We benefited a great deal from his help. I hope he'll be happy.

BTW, care to fill in for him on this thread?:teeth:

Hi 999ghsts ... are you really leaving WL? I don't mean to pry, and you don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable doing so, I'm just curious about askmickey's post.

If so, CONGRATS on your new position, and thanks once again for all your help on the board!

p.s. I was SURE you were a woman! LOL!

:D

I thought it was a woman too, well it is always hard to tell on the internet. I would have never thought that a man would have had enough patience to anwer all of our questions as nicely and precisely as 999 did. (just kidding)

Oh well good luck 999ghts I was so hoping to meet you on our trip.

...see what happens when you are absent from the "Board" for a few days???!?!??! First of all, 999ghsts IS a woman, and 2nd, you don't know if she leaving unless SHE says she is leaving!!! My goodness!

imgoingtodisney:
The sixth floor DOES NOT have enclosed balconies! The 7th floor, however, does....

If you request North Wing, ask for an odd-numbered room. That way, you will get one facing the inner court/pool/waterfall.....

Hi Kimmar,
I guess I shouldn't have taken askmickey's quote at face value....sorry!
The question is, askmickey seems pretty knowledgable judging from past posts (like a CM would be), so why would he/she be posting false info now???
Hmmmm..... weird.

Seventy-five more days till I'm there!
:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Thanks, kimmar067 for letting us know about 999ghsts. I don't understand why askmickey posted that.
