GlennandAnn-
I'm really considering the $35 for concierge!!! The only thing holding me back is I have 2 rooms booked for my immediate family so I would have to pay $35 x 2!!! Say, can you get concierge for only a day or two???? (I wouldn't even mind moving my room location....;) )

rojoe-
Of course, I remember you! You know, it's funny but a friend of mine (we met because our sons were friends in grammar school) who moved away to South Jersey (Middletown) is leaving tomorrow at 4A.M., too!! I was beginning to think you are HER, until the part about AC and your occupation. First suit, first store - wow, you really lucked out!!! (I don't even DARE go looking yet; I've been dieting and exercising, so I am waiting until the last possible moment to go....;) !!)

I can't believe it!!! I can finally say.....

Countdown to WDW:
29 days - 14 hours - 11 minutes - WOOHOO!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc
(without the "month" designation!!)

After WDW, it is my next favorite place to visit! We go to LBI every year (father has a house there). I just love it there and hate to leave. However, it was a little easier to come home this time knowing that our WL/WDW trip is right around the corner!

I know that coffee makers are available upon request, but is it a 4 cup one? I'm thinking that DH and I might bring an extra one that we have. One advantage of driving down, I guess.

Only 9 days to go!:Pinkbounc

999ghsts... We will be checking in at VWL on July 2. We have the confirmation from DVC that states that we have requested a 2BR non-smoking and top floor. We did not request a specific view, but I do not want to end up with Spiceycat's view of the dumpsters! Do I really need to fax in a room request? I'll be wearing a lime green T-Shirt when I check in, so if you see me, say hi!

dtuleya - thanks so much for the idea. I should have thought of that since my profession is spent on the computer! What a numbnut. Time for me to get started...

...I wonder when corvair amy will be back from WL. Can't wait to read her post....:) !!!

Countdown to WDW:
28 days - 20 hours - 19 minutes - Yahoooo!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

BTW - what's the "sitch" with the weather in Orlando????

Thanks everyone for all of your insight esp. 999GHSTS!!!

Hey Corndog, I love your name!! LOL:D :D

Kimmar.....

I was wondering the same thing about corvair. I am hoping that that Orlando will be rained out by the time we get there, but am sad for the people who have been recently. I just watched the Travel Channel's show about the AKL. Does anyone know if the Wilderness Lodge has been featured?

We got the voicemail messages every evening too at the WL telling us about the next day events. weather and so on and we weren't in concierge. I figured that it was just something that was done for everyone! LOL! I know I wouldn't pay for concierge because I wouldn't be there to enjoy it. I would feel like I had to be there for every little snack! Of course if I got it for free than I would go for it. Concierge is mainly for the personal service you get and not the food anyone. I do hear some complain about the selection in food but it isn't about the food at all. The food is kind of like a bonus to the service you are actually paying for.

That is what I expected about Concierge level.....it's all in the service. Thanks for the info Skiwee1. Does anyone out there have any specific instances of great concierge service - getting a prized PS reservation, or anything of that sort to share?

I am not knocking Concierge; just trying to justify the extra money it costs. I, too think I wouldn't be around enough to enjoy it, and would feel compelled to spend more time at the hotel if I paid for it.

Hello, its corvair, I am back. Any questions go ahead and ask I will try to help. Yes,,, it rained every day very hard............... corvair

Welcome back Corvair! So give us the scoop. How did you like the WL?

Sorry to hear you had so much rain.

Thanks,, I think I would of enjoyed it better with out the rain. My DH and my 12 year old DD loved it. My 9 yearold DD thought it was an adult resort. Those were her words. We stayed at FR-QT for 5 nights first and then went to WL. If you have ever seen the pool at FR-QT you would understand what she is talking about. The pool is so much bigger at FR-QT, and alot more fun kid stuff like water fountains. The food court was very small for a deluxe. I have never stayed any where else but WL and FR-QT so I do not know how other food courts are. One guy walked in and said this is your food court. I guess because they have room service, my DH loved and used and they also have 2 sit down restaurants, maybe that is why it is so small. We only used the bus 1 time and waited about an half hour to go to epcot. I saw other busses come and go for the other parks. The boat is slow. We waited about 15 minutes which is not that bad, but then you go to FW first and then back over to MK. The room was very nice. We were in south wing room 3147.We looked over the pool but the trees kind of blocked the veiw. We could see the water parade from out balcony and the geyser. Had a great veiw of courtyard. The hottub was very great. Spent alot of time in there,,,,in the rain....any other questions just ask....corvair

I'm so sorry it rained every day for you Corvair! I know what that's like. It happened to us one year at the end of Oct - along with being unseasonably cold. Gave me a bad feel about that time of year and am planning on September.

Sorry about the rain, hope it didn't spoil your trip corvair.

Ok, can you tell us more about the transportation? It doesn't seem like yours was so awful, only a 15 min wait for the boat. Would you recommend taking the boat to MK and transferring from there to other parks or just taking the slow buses from WL?

Welcome back, corvair!

I am so sorry about your weather:( !

I hope you had fun anyway.

What time did the boat start going to MK in the am?

Did you meet 999 ghosts?:D

Like I said, I only used the bus once. We waited for epcot, but the other park busses were coming and going pretty fast. I would not use the boat and the transfer.......The boat ride is very slow..... It took a long time to get to MK. The busses would be alot faster than using the boat then transfering. I told my DH the one thing I did not like about WL was the boat to MK. It is ok, but not every time you want to go to MK. They need to add a bus also..corvair

No I did not meet 999ghts. All of the CM where all very kind and nice.. I think the boat ran an half hour befor park opening.....Kimmar I see you made the post to the top.......great job on this thread.... I does help alot.... 999ghts...thanks for all of your great info.... corvair love the hottub.....

...corvair!!! Sorry to hear that the weather wasn't the greatest. Was it really humid, though? Anyway, I hope that this sudden frequency of rain slows down a little bit when we go in July.
How did you like Whispering Canyon? Did you decide not to go to PH? Where was your favorite meal?
Yes, as you can see, our 'lil thread has finally made it to the top, so hopefully, it will be very informative to many DIS readers.
WL does not have a food court - Roaring Forks is really a convenience store with counter service. I have stayed at both CSR and DxL and they have large food courts with a LARGE designated area for seating. They is similar to food courts that you would see at your local indoor shopping mall.
Anyhoo, glad to have you back....if you think of anything noteworthy to post, please do so....:D

Countdown to WDW:

Hi kimmar,,, It was not that hot.. did not use misters or sunglasses... It was not showers,, it rained cats and dogs, every day form 3:00 to6:00 or later... It was about 80. back home it was in the 90s every day. We ate at WC 2 times... Do not sit in BIlls table if you want to have fun..... He should not be working there. Did not say one word to us or my DDs. We watched everyother table have alot of fun. My DD did get to do pony races.. We ate there again and had a great server, alot of fun. Food was OK. I think you go for the fun. If I did not have kids I would go somewhere else.. I will post of restaraunt post... I guess you would not call that a food court.. We did use room service,, it was great.. the room was great too... loved the hottub.... in the rain it was so great.. corvair

Just remembered something.... Everyone was very dissapointed in the pool bar.... It was never open.... It would close when it started to rain, which was every day.... but it would never reopen... the pool would close but would reopen... the bar would close about 2;00 for the day... Everyone at night was complaining about that..... At fr-qt, pool bar stayed open until midnight every day rain or shine...
