it depends on what type of room you want to book. If you are just looking for a regular room then you can wait but if you want a certain view or a certian suite then book early.... how early is really up to you and maybe others will have better advice for that. But remember if you book early you can always cancel if find a discount code. Anyway that is just some adivce take it or leave it

we had a wood view for our honey moon and it was on the first floor. I had a little patio and it had its own pond that was awsome but it did not have a tub - just a shower (at first i did not like it but then after a while I was ok with it.....

Sounds nice. Was it a quiet area? Do you recall where that was, north wing or south wing? Just curious.

It was very nice and quite down there .... we faced the mk so that would be north (right).... the only thing was that we coould not see the fireworks from our room like the higher floors. But you could lay in bed a listen the fantasy in the sky on some nights. BUt as far as romance the room was secluded and quiet and just right... we will back to a suite in december (a one time thing) and enjoying every minute

You are definitely looking for room 6043! It has bunkbeds and a great view of the falls. It's not far from the elevators by roaring forks(for coffee).

Hi all! I'm back from my honeymoon at WL. I was very pleased with the resort itself, I loved the theming and the staff was very friendly and helpful. However, I was disappointed with our room, it was really showing some wear. The sinks and vanity were pretty worn, the wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, and the tub faucet was constantly running a trickle of water. I was in room 6006, which is woods view in the north wing. Although it was on the 6th floor facing the MK, all we saw from our balcony was mostly trees, a bit of the pond and a bit of the lake. We did catch a glimpse of the water pageant, but no view whatsoever of the fireworks from the MK. The pool was not too crowded, boat and bus transportation was ok (though we mostly used our rental car), and housekeeping was average (basic cleaning, no towel animals). We didn't receive any extra treatment for our honeymoon upon check-in, no offer of an upgrade or honeymoon basket in the room (I've heard others have gotten those in the past.) We did get some balloons, a card, and some chocolates after I went to the desk and asked if they did anything special for birthdays (we celebrated my husband's b'day while we were there). I did have some high expectations going there after hearing about so many others great experiences, but we still enjoyed ourselves without all the extra perks others have received. If you have any questions please ask! :D

IMHO, I love booking early and then paying for it a little at a time... the expenditure is not so large (seeming) and it is all paid when I check in! Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!!:bounce:

WE booked POFQ 5 months ago - then when they came out with the new rates we called and changed to WL and still saved $20 a night! Disney Travel CO. does not charge for the change so I would book what you want - then check the codes regularly for that date and if you can upgrade and save money then great! I had gone through a travel agent and it still wasn't a problem!
Just a suggestion! :)

When I changed our reservations to the WL a few weeks ago, I didn't make any room requests at that time because I had no idea what I wanted. We're going to be there 12/19-1/02/03. Now that I've read all the information here ( this topic is so helpful!) I think I know what I want. So, should I call CRO now and make the requests or is it better to wait till a few days out and fax them? Thanks for the help!

Maybe I should double check what I think I want with the WL Vets here.:) We have a courtyard view and we'd like to have a room overlooking the lobby with a view of the inner courtyard, but absolutely don't want a view of the villa's. Is this possible? Am I correct in thinking that all the rooms overlooking the lobby start on the 4th floor? Also, if I request a room overlooking the lobby will the only view possible be an inner courtyard view and if so, should I just request "overlooking the lobby, non-smoking" because I wouldn't need to request the inner courtyard? Again, thanks for all the information here, it's so nice to be able to get such great details before we go instead of having to learn by our mistakes!

I attempted reading through this thread several times, but it's a bit overwhelming. This will be our first trip to WDW and we're really excited to be staying at the WL! We had originally booked a woodsview, but when the CKO code came out, no woodsviews were available (an hour after the phone lines opened), so we upgraded to a courtyard view and saving $330 in the process. Can't beat that!:bounce:

We had asked that we be assigned a non-smoking (they noted this was for health reasons) bunkbed room on the inner courtyard. Am I being overly picky or is this a somewhat easy request to fill? The requests were made in the order of importance to us. Is there anything else I need to know about these rooms? My children will be 9 & 14, so we don't have to worry about being "close" to one particular area of the resort. I'm willing to be flexible with room location, but I'd really like the above requests to be filled. Can anybody give me some insight?

Ok, a couple more questions...

1. What is the best film to use when photographing the interior (lobby, etc) ? What about for the Water Pageant?

2. Is there a microwave for general use located in the resort?

Thanks!!!

We dropped to the 2nd page... Bumping back to first!

to peach girl.....

Call CRO now and make sure that they put your request on your account... then a couple of days out fax also so that you can say that you did all you could and also so that they will be reminded what you requested....anyone else help on the court yard question?

to dtuleya....
Your request are not hard to fill and seem very reasonable. If by chance you didnt get all your request remember to reask at check in... most cms really try to make the customer happy.

hope i helped

It is my aunt's 69 and holding BDAY on check in day 11/16 and we are requesting 2 connecting rooms on the first floor north wing with a view of the otter pond. I was thinking about upgrading my aunt's room to a jr. suite, but was unsure if there was one in the Northwing on the first floor that would still give us a view of my son's favorite animal, the otter in the connecting room. I also thought that since a jr. suite has a refridgerator we would not have to get one for medicine, etc. It is my son's first priority to view an otter from his room. He even has started a WL otter chant that we must perform once a day until we leave for good luck in getting an otter room. Isn't it funny what parents do for their children! He has me chanting OTTER instead of Concierge!

Does anyone know if a jr. suite is on the first floor north wing with the patio at the otter pond?

Also does anyone have any WL related BDAY things we could do for my aunt? I want to get flowers for her room and also see if we could request her a robe for her room. Is any of this possible?

Thanks for any help. The day is very near!

OTTER OTTER coming soon
OTTER OTTER wanna see it from our room (just kidding)

I am not sure about a junior suite on the first floor can anyone else help....

About things for your aunts Bday.... The WL staff can get you pretty much anything you want..... Flowers are easy and i would bet that a robe is even easier.... You should also take her to artist point for her Bday ..... My wife and I love it... it can be a bit pricey (esp on a teachers budget) but it is the best place for a special occasion (except for Victoria and Alberts) I hope i helped. But as with anything at disney you must let them know that yall are celebrating a Bday .... You can call CRO and let them put it on your reservation or tell them when you get there....

.... Just thought a would let you know that on our honey moon my DW and I new nothing about the otter pond and did not request it ..... SO we get to our room on the first floor north side and what do we see out our patio ... We are to feet from the otter pond and there are animals every where..... Just wanted you to know that it is possible to get the best view in the house. We would sit on our patio at dusk and we could hear music from MK and watch the otters and the raccoons play... it was great and we didnt even do the otter chat :-) Have fun
