I'm sure it's on here somewhere already, but does anybody remember how late the main pool stays open?

Hi Gem! I'm pretty sure the lifeguards left at 10p.m. They closed off the slide when they left with a rope. You can still swim in the main or quiet pools after 10p.m., however.

Pools are officially open until 10 PM, at which time the lifeguards pick up the megaphones and announce that you are now swimming at your own risk - call 911 from the lifeguard bench if there's an emergency.
After which the pool remains open 24 hours with late-night visitors. At about 5 AM, a cast member comes to restraighten the chairs around the pools.On alternate nights after midnite, they clean the cement areas, probably also alot of insect spraying - from what I heard, it is one of Disney resorts main occupations after dark!( This from 2 CMs)
Much more than you wanted to know, right???

Why is it that the last few days D-R-A-G by?? I know that the week we are there is just going to fly, so this is not fair!!

I prepared my fax request this morning. I decided just to request North wing (MK side). Mostly because the smoking wing is on the fifth floor South side and I don't want to be anywhere near it (for medical reasons). We have a woodsview room booked. Hopefully we get a good one (fingers crossed).

Well, I tried to win the FL Lottery last night (You know, to pay for my WDW trip - and trips for the rest of my life!!), but no one won this week. So just FYI - the jackpot is up to $52 million. Anyone who's going this week, might be interested to get a ticket for Saturday's drawing. Anybody feeling lucky?



Sometimes I feel like I'm NOT GOING TO MAKE IT!!!!

999ghsts, my heart goes out to you and your family. I think most of us here on the WL FAQ thread have been worrying about you while you've been gone and your presence has definitely been missed.

I'm so sorry that a fellow DIS'er spoke about you in that way. I'm shocked and must say I'm embarrassed for him. Obviously he/she feels very silly right now (I hope!).

I appreciate everything you do, and I for one have benefited greatly from your knowledge and expertise on this board. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to SO MANY questions! You are loved by many on this board!!

Gail checked me in at the lodge. She was so kind and helpful that I kind of thought maybe she was 999Ghsts. I promise I didn't ask, though.

Hi 999ghsts,
I just want to send my good thoughts and well wishes to you as you go through this difficult time. Comments like the one left at the front desk are hurtful at any time, but I imagine that such stupidity would rankle even more under the circumstances.

I have been lurking on this board, checking in almost every day in preparation for our trip in December. It was planned to help me deal with the death our unborn son at 18 weeks and, exactly a month later, the death of one of my very best friends from cancer at the age of 33. I know how hard it is.

Thanks so much for all the helpful information you've posted .... and try not to let that guy get to you!!! Take care of yourself,

999, I, too, am very sorry for your loss and wish you only the best. I am sure you understand that the vast majority of people on this board are extremely appreciative of your kindness and help. Unfortunately, however, there are those who lack the understanding that some people spent their time helping others because they are simply kind. Your well wishes to this person exhibit, once again, your thoughtfulness (this message was rewritten a couple of times because I wasn't being as thoughtful...).

Hopefully, a trip to Disney was just the "medicine" this person needed to renew a little faith in the world around him. The special thing about Disney is not just the rides, the buildings, the characters--it's the atmosphere of joy and kindness which starts at the front gate (and in your case, long before we arrive) and stays with us long after we leave.

....Obviously, you are loved by many DIS'ers who feel the same way as I do!!! I just hope that the "one bad apple" will not spoil it for the countless others who depend on you for your knowledge and expertise. If all Disney CM's were as kind, caring, and thoughtful as you, I don't think ANYONE would EVER leave WDW!!
