999ghosts

I would just like to echo the sentiments of the other posters. I hope you truly know how much you are appreciated by us DISers whom you have helped plan wonderful vacations. You represent to many of us what Disney embodies. I can not think of a way to begin to thank you enough for all of your information.

My thoughs and prayers are with you during your time of grieving.

Our thoughts are with you.

Family is important and remember all of the well wishes that are out there for you.

Some people are so negative 999 ghst - I am sorry you had to deal with that at such a bad time in your life!

I am sorry to hear about your loss.

Thank You again for all that you do.

Just wanted to add my thanks and thoughts to all the others for
999ghosts. I have greatly benefited from your help and thoughtfulness over the last month. We planned our trip (Sept. 11-22) over a year ago as a way to "see light at the end of the tunnel" while going through a long, drawn-out terminal illness of a dear family member. We found out 1 month ago that CBR would close 3 days before we were to arrive! We have visited WL on previous trips but never stayed there, so we immediately chose WL as out next choice. Thanks to all of you and especially 999ghosts, we are MORE excited about staying at WL than CBR (and we really love CBR...we stay there not because of financial reasons, but because we love the atmosphere) . You are a lovely group of people and as I told you before, 999ghosts, you are the underlying reason that WDW is so successful. CMs like you are what bring us all back again and again. Good thoughts and happy times are being willed your way from lots of different lurkers and posters.
We are down to single-digit countdown at our house! Next month, I can post like a pro!!! and maybe help instead of just lurk!
:earsboy:

I am another lurker. I read this thread often but don't post much. I had to add my condolences to 999ghosts on her loss. My prayers are with you. I have enjoyed your posts and learned a lot from them. The posts on this thread helped make WL our choice for our Dec trip.

Congratulations denmage, My little Russian angel is 6 years old now. She is such a joy. I wish you the same happiness with yours.

We'll have a courtyard view room with bunk beds Dec 8-14. I would like a room with a good view, quiet enough for the kids to sleep and not too far from the coffee. Is there a particular number I should request?

....room #6043 sounds just like what you are looking for!;)
(you can PM AspiringCindy for further questions and/or details:) )

Sprinkling Pixie Dust *~*~*~*~ your way for a PERFECT pre-Christmas holiday vacation....:teeth:

Way-to-go, Mousgroupy...you must be SOOOO excited about your upcoming trip!! You will LOVE the WL!! (don't forget to add "WL VET" to your siggie when you return....;) )

P.S. ~ I've posted additional days on my recent vaca to WL on the "Trip Board"...I've linked all the days' writings on "DAY ONE: INVASION....", so you can start there....

(This post makes 1,200 posts !! Woohoo!!:earseek: )

999 ghosts I just want to add that I also am so sorry about your family and you will be in my thoughts and prayers....
you have been so helpful to all of us here know you are appreciated.

just wanted to express my condolences to you and your family. you help bring the magic of disney to all of the dis'ers so we can have a memorable experience in the world. thank you!!!

You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. It is because of you and your fellow CM's that our family returns to WDW (& WL!) for our family vacations. Thank-you!

Hi -

I have one quick question - I am staying at the WL in December. I booked a standard room. I have a 4 yr old daughter and would love to get a room that I may be able to see fireworks from our balcony. I have already requested the 6th floor but should I also have the request reflect the North Side?? This will be my first time statying at WL. THANK YOU!!! You guys have been great with the info.

Also, does anyone have any info on upgrades when you get there? Do you ask or just how do you go about it.

Phyllis

999ghsts

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.

I would also like to add that Disney would not be Disney if it were not for people like you that love your job so much that you help others to make there stays so very magical. T

Thank you for all of your help. I will be at the WL at the end of Sept. and I know that my stay will be great because of all of the wonderful information that you have provided.

Jenifer

999ghsts - I just wanted you to know that -
I had originally booked POFQ for my family (and another family)'s 1st trip to Disney
(my husband is the only one who has been - but only day trips when relatives lived nearby)
When the new rates came out I almost called to scooped up the savings but then I remembered the negative things I had read about that resort on these boards (nothing REALLY bad but I decided to research a little) Due to this thread I decided to switch to WL. I loved the looks of the hotel but was worried about 'child' friendliness.
I'm sure most of us would agree that you are the reason we want to go to WL and will continue to return!
THanks Again! Please don't let one negative person ruin the magic - You are our own little sprinkling of pixie dust out here in the 'real' world :) You are making a huge difference.

I have a question for those who have rented the "Water Mice." This is something DH and I have never done and I thought it would be neat to get some pictures of the resort(s) from the water.

First of all, it will only be the two of us, and we will probably only do this once during the trip, so keeping that in mind, how much does it cost to rent?

Also, how do you operate these things? Are we talking "pedal power" here or do you get to relax a little? If you do have to "pedal" your way around the SSL, how difficult is it? We've done some of these things at the state fair where you can push and push and push those pedals and get practically nowhere!! (LOL)

For anyone who has done this, is there something I should know? Places to avoid, places not to be missed? Just curious.

Thanks for any help you can give! :D

:bounce: I have rented watermice several times most recently while I was staying at WL in July. The rates for the watermice are about $21 for a half hour, however if you have an annual pass or a disney club membership you receive 15% off.

The watermice are powered by a Mercury outboard motor so you will not have to pedal.

Dont worry about operating the boats, they give you a lesson before they send you out in them.

Have a good time.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the DIS, never posted anything before. Just finished reading this very long thread (took four days). There is so much helpful information!

Anyway. Of course I have a question. I'm planning my honeymoon for next July 27th. I was just wondering if anyone had thoughts about when to book a reservation. I've read up on discount codes and visit mousesaver.com so I know that there are currently no discounts that I am aware of for next July. Should I book my reservation now and hope that I can apply a discount later, or should I wait to book until I know that the codes are available? What are your thoughts?

Thanks kimmar for starting this thread.

man the ideas on here are great. I consider my self a WL vet and I have only stayed "home" once but boy did I do my home work.

I have read this thread for 4 days and just got finished. Everything i have read here is great for a person who has never been. and it is nice to get to read about a place that i love to go to.

My wife and I will be back again in december for a trip without our little mouseketeer. We will be in one of the honeymoon suites for our anniversary and we even get concierge (not bragging I am just a counry cajun who doesnt get that kinda service often).

ALso my prayers go out to you 999ghost and your family. We in cajun land have said prayers for you

it depends on what type of room you want to book. If you are just looking for a regular room then you can wait but if you want a certain view or a certian suite then book early.... how early is really up to you and maybe others will have better advice for that. But remember if you book early you can always cancel if find a discount code. Anyway that is just some adivce take it or leave it

DisLUV - What part of Louisiana are you from? I'm over here in Slidell and we're counting the days till our trip - and getting close!:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earseek: :earseek:

Thanks for the input Jeremy. I appreciate it. I'm going to give it some more thought. I definitely want to stay at WL for the honeymoon. From what I've seen on this thread I just know it will be a romantic place. I think I want a woodsview, so maybe I should book early just to make sure I get one. :)

We stay at VWL, but if you click my link below I have a handfull of pictures that I keep adding to.
