SO DW and I were watching an episode of Ellen from last week yesterday (it was recorded on our DVR) and we saw she gave away the new Wii Active game. So I looked into it and it comes out today and DW and I are going to go pick it up today and try it out. It looks pretty amazing and a workout game that can actually compete with Wii Fit. It is made by EA Sports so it should be pretty good. I'll let you guys know how it is...I mean it can't be any worse than that Jillian Michael's wii game lol.

cool! Yes, please post your reviews on it! I'm very interested int it, but had to hold myself off from pre-ordering since I won't have time to really get into it until after our June trip.

Please let us know how it is! I'm very interested in it, but am holding off on it after the Jillian Michaels debacle. :rotfl:

I heard such awful things about the Jillian Michaels game, too- I was so disappointed.

I was reading Parents magazine last night, and they gave Wii Active pretty glowing reviews! I'll be interested to hear what you think.

Yes please post your review! I'm also interested in this new.
Did you try the Jillian Michaels' workout for Wii? Was it really bad? I thought I had read good things about it and considered buying it.

I don't have time to go to the gym in the summer when my kids are out of school. So I'm looking for some fun ways to workout at home.

I'm also thinking of getting this. It looks like alot of fun!

What was so bad about the Jillian Michaels game?

I want to buy this too, but I think I will wait until after my vacation.

The Jillian Michaels game just doesn't work. You will get a good workout from it, but your "person" won't respond to the wii mote. Or at least that is the problem I have had with it.

I ordered this from amazon! Can't wait to get it. Who knows when that will be though since I selected free shipping.

I also just ordered a Cardio game and the My Fitness Trainer(?) game. I need to set up a workout area lol.

DH is bringing it home tonight but my neighbor was part of the play test and she LOVED IT. She has been begging for one since she had to give her copy back. She actually pre-ordered it at Game Stop the day after she had to return her copy.

From all accounts it is a 'real' workout compared to Wii Fit.

My sources may be biased but everyone likes it.

I have read a lot of good reviews. I will probably wait a week or two before buying it. My cousin preordered a copy from Amazon and she told me to come over this weekend to try out the game.

I've love to read a review. I saw it listed in the Target ad and I'm definitely interested, but can't afford to buy another Wii game.

I have the Jillian one and I have My Fitness Coach. I use My Fitness Coach as my regular workout now. It doesn't use the balance board. I'm very disappointed in the Jillian one and I'm so glad I got My Fitness Coach.

I bought the Wii Fit a couple of weeks ago, and just bought this game today. It was a very good workout. I loved the kick boxing and in-line skating part. There are other work-outs, but I haven't tried them. I'd say it was well-worth the $59.:thumbsup2

Why would you have to buy another Wii? It is just the game and I think $52 and if you want to work out with a partner you can get an extra set of bands etc for $20. You don't need the balance board but it is compatible if you already have it.

Maybe she meant she can't afford to buy another Wii game.

Oops, I meant Wii game. Hubby was laid off a few months back, so we're trying not to buy anything that's not really necessary at the moment.

(That's what happens when you post at work and someone interrupts you.)

Hey! I love to do kick boxing aerobics. Is this fast paced? I like the boxing on Wii Fit, but I hate that its so slow to tell you what to do and then you just do a few punches and steps and have to wait again for more instructions. Is this better for exercise? Does it last longer? Thanks

Thanks for the clarification. We've BTDT with layoffs. I just didn't want people left with the impression that a whole separate Wii was required for the game.

I also think some people may be under the impression that you have to have the balance board (Wii Fit) and you don't.

Got the game home and hooking everything up.....we have the balance board but are waiting on batteries to charge to use it with the game. I'll let you guys know what it's like. We had to buy the extra pack so DW and I could both workout at the same time with the elastic bands and the leg strap. It was $19 extra for the extra pack. I bought the last one that our Target had (on the shelf anyway).

Sorry...by hooking everything up I meant putting the elastic bands together and getting our custom characters setup. I have to work at 2 so that gives us an hour and a half or so to mess around with it. I'll dive into it more tonight after I get off work.

DH picked mine up for me this morning so I'll hook it up and try it out as soon as I get home today!
