New Wii Active Game

I can't get the backhand or the forehand to work, especially when I use the balance board with it. It's really frustrating. Other than that, I really like the exercises and stuff. It's good for me 'cause I'm pretty sick so 20 minutes of exercise is about right for me.

I'm wondering if the report is still good as the 30-day program has progressed a bit. Is anyone still using it?

I stopped doing the built in 30 day program and creted my own workouts. I can't do the running with sleeping neighbors below. I added in a lot of boxing and dancing to get me moving. I start off with lunges and curls and I end with a big long squat. Ouch!

I love it!!!

I still love it and am actually up in Indiana visiting family and we brought the Wii with us so we could continue our 30 day challenge while we're away. We've missed a few days from various things coming up so we haven't completed it yet, but I still find it to be a GREAT workout. We're over half way done with the 30 day challenge and it said it would now give us more exercises to do that we hadn't done before in the program, but would also continue to do some of the base exercises so we could continue to work our core muscles.

I love it and haven't touched the Wii Fit since we bought it...if you're looking for something for an adult/teenager that wants to workout and get in shape I'd suggest getting the game...if you want a game for a kid to get some exercise then get a Wii Fit. This is more of a workout then a game IMHO.

I got mine the Friday after it came out. Love it and it gives a great workout. The only thing is my leg band has started coming apart at the seam. I wrote EA and they want pics and the receipt. I hope i can get it replaced. Watch out for this with yours.

Great reviews - but I think I'm gonna hold off with the band problems - maybe they'll revamp them & get better...

I really need to dust off my FIT anyway - that one pretty much kicks my butt since I'm no where near in shape :rolleyes1

I'm surprised at two things...1...that it's falling apart. We have 2 and they have gotten quite a bit of use between my wife and I and are holding up fine....2...I'm surprised they wanted a picture of the receipt. It just came out and it's not like you're asking for a new game or anything lol.

I haven't heard of anyone else saying their strap broke so I don't think this problem is across the board. The only negative with my strap is that it sometimes slips down when I'm completely drenched in sweat, but that's rarely. I wouldn't count on them coming out with another design of strap though. I'm sure there was just an issue with a stitch being loose or something with yours which has caused it to fall apart. Sorry you have to deal with that!

Picked my copy up at Sam's Club on Sunday. I have done the first two days of the 30 day challenge.

I don't know if they have changed the strap design, but I haven't had a problem yet with it slipping. I am doing moderate intensity.

I am a bit out of shape and I am SORE and I definitely work up a sweat.

I like it much, much better t han the Wii Fit as it is more of an organized workout with cardio and strength training all in one workout so I don't have to go figure it out what muscle groups to target, etc. Love the idiot proofing on it.

The only negative so far is that there is no stretching before or after the 30 day challenge. I know enough to stretch out myself, but how many people are just going to jump into it and never stretch?

I do love it, but I had to see an orthopedist afterwards - LOL! I put about 20 miles on my treadmill every week, but no strength training, so I was very sore playing this (which is good!). However, after a long workout, with lots of lunges and squats, later in the day, my kneecap popped (very painful). Turns out my kneecaps are in the wrong spot, and I was told NEVER to do lunges and squats ever again, and I need PT!

As for the band, it's flimsy, and doesn't give enough of a workout. I just put the handles on a fitness band I already had, and it's much better. You can just buy real bands.

I second that...I always forget about this part of the game until I'm done and then I'm like okayyy now I need to stretch on my own. I run and stuff so I have no problem stretching on my own, but other people may have no idea what to do or may do it wrong and injure themselves.

Just wondering how everyone is liking the Wii Active (any of the games actually). Thinking of getting a Wii for Christmas. Hoping it would fun for the days I don't want to do my eliptical or a DVD.

I bought it in the spring, loved it, because I got a good workout (and I was sore - I also put in about 20 miles a week on my treadmill). However, the squats and lunges (which really made my muscles sore - a good thing) caused my knee to blow out, and I had to spend the summer in PT. Just be careful!

Good to know because my knees give me trouble. Do you recommend some other Wii games that get you moving? I was just checking out the Gold's Gym for the Wii and the cheering one. Dance Dance Revolution looks fun too. Thanks

I have this game. It's a good work out. Especially the inline skating, it will kick your butt!! Definately a good purchase. Well worth the money.

Unwrapped my Wii fit and Wii active today. I have only played around a bit with the fit. Anxious to see how it compares to the workout I am doing now.

Anyone else unwrap one today?
