New update on Tiger Fan (Lisa) and secret sister FYI *update 12/27--pg 2*

Just a short update on our friend, Tiger Fan (Lisa). I received an email from her partner, Lynn, a bit ago, and she asked me to pass on some info.

As you know, Lisa has been fighting a very tough type of breast cancer, inflamatory breast cancer, for some time now. She has been on a pretty steady 'diet' of chemo for many months now. Lisa and her DD Emily and Lynn just came back from WDW a couple days ago from a nice holiday trip. Lisa was able to get around pretty well with both wheelchair and ECV.

While at Disney she found a knot in her abdomen. She went to see her oncologist when they returned home. He decided to hospitalize her in order to run tests to determine why her left leg is still not working and to determine what the knot in her stomach is all about. She was hospitalized Monday and so far has had a CAT scan, a bone scan, and two MRI's. She still does not know anything conclusive about her leg and still waiting to have a stomach biopsy. It will probably be Tuesday or Wednesday before she gets home.

Lisa did want me to let her sister person (I guess that is what it is) here on this board, involved in the 'sister swap', to know that Lisa will not be able to send her gift until after Christmas.

Please do keep Lisa in your prayers and best wishes, she truly can use them in her fight with the 'beast'.

I will keep Lisa in my thoughts & prayers. I cannot begin to imagine all she has been through. I always find waiting so difficult.

Regarding other SS participants - does anyone know cinderella1001/Celinda? I sent her packages for Sept 30 & October 30 & she replied on this bb. I mailed two packages for November 30 - post office confirmed delivery almost four weeks ago, & I have not heard ANYthing from her. I would appreciate at least an acknowledgement that she received the packages. Maybe her spouse or a friend could have sent me a note (I included my mailing address), a pm here, a post on this bb, SOMETHING. I'm beginning to be soured by this lack of communication, response.

Meanwhile the person who sent me packages during this second swap is the total opposite!! She also has medical issues, but manged to send me packages & send them on time ! We have been communicating back & forth for several weeks. A little communication goes a LONG WAY! Thank you!

Thank you so much for the update. I think of Lisa so often and wonder how she is doing. I sent her a PM awhile ago to let her know I am still praying for her. But I know she doesn't check them often and I don't think gets notification anymore.

I called today at the hospital, talked to Lisa's mom. Lisa had just gone into surgery about 20 minutes before I called. I talked for about 15 minutes with her mom and she said they hope to have biopsy results by late tomorrow. I hope to call again in a few days.

Lisa is now at her parents' home, recuperating from her latest surgery, abdominal exploratory surgery, to see about new tumors and biopsies. I did talk to her mom while Lisa was in surgery a couple days ago and was able to chat a bit with her, hoping to give what little comfort from a distance I could.

Lisa wrote to me tonight........

.....They did let me come home late Christmas Eve and I was so thrilled. Emily had been so worried that I'd not make it for Santa. We are currently staying at my parents. Logistically it just makes the most sense. We will most likely be here for a while. I can't really be alone and this way Lynn can go back to school once the break is over and mom and dad will be here (they work from home). There house is the best to work with too (1 story, larger, etc.). The bottom line on diagnosis it seems is muscle and nerve damage in the hip area and physical therapy will help that, but it will take a lot of time. There is also new tumors in the lumbar region of the spine that may be causing a compression fracture and putting a good bit of pain in that region as well. As for the stomach tumors we don't have the pathology reports back yet (Christmas made things go a little slower), but they hope by next week for sure. I'm healing up very well however. Thanks for all your prayers and support. Feel free to update anyone or the DIS, I always appreciate any and all support, prayers, PD that I can get. So, there you have it, our friend, Lisa, still can use lots of prayers and good thoughts. All appreciated, she has a tough road here.
