How on God's green Earth can they call something a "participation" prize and not give it out to all who participated? You really blew it this time VMK. You screwed up last night, got people's spirit's up, and crushed them. Since you PUBLISHED these prizes as "participation" prizes (and still do) they should go out to all who participated.

What do they call those who did not place? The Donald present will be like a jack-in-the-box VMK nightmare to me now .

I am upset about this whole situation, but I'm not going to rant as I think everyone has already said everything there is to be said. I would just like to say that I'm disappointed because, as I told pretty much anyone who came to visit my room, I didn't care if I won or not, I just would have really liked the top ten pin and then to see it on the list of participation prizes and then have it taken away was disheartening.

Personally I am happy to be on the honorable mention list after only playing VMK for a year. I think it is slightly disappointing with the prize situation but I just think it was a mix up of some sort with the wording of it all - but it was a fun contest for all those who were able to participate so should a "prize" really matter? Other than the blue clothing items and orange chairs the prizes weren't something we couldn't get anyways. I'm happy with my Donald gift Congrats to all!

Thanks a lot VMK. I appreciate the Flag and the gift. But I told the kids they would get all those wonderful participation prizes when I picked them up from school and now I have to tell them no they will not.

First off I must say Congrats to all the winners!! I had 4 friends that where runner ups!

I have to say though. The everybody prize is a big disappointment. I don't mind that we didn't get all that stuff they listed. But out of everything they could give they give us the donald present? They give us something that is meant to be given as a present to our friends. That is very disappointing.

haha. If you all noticed I was quiet for a bit there (oh wait i am always quiet) it was because I knew there was a mistake and I didnt know how they were going to handle it ROFL. The top 10 pin was so obviously not supposed to go to all of us.

First.. I just want to point out.

I am always a brides maid and never a bride ROFL (I was honorable mention also during the water slide competition ) Thank you for the recognition there tho seriously. As you all know, my ego is a bit small and this will really lift my spirits. you can all title me honorable aengus now if you wish

OK. They totally handled this poorly. ROFL. They should have apologized, acknowledged the mistake and given us the gumdrop I think. As much as I love the donald present, as others already pointed out, they are giving us something thats meant to be given away ROFL. I think VMK_Shorty is going to get an earful ROFL. Someday I wonder if VMK will figure out its the lack of COMMUNICATION they need to work on. They have that nice web page to tell us whats going on, and dont seem to ever want to use it.

If they didnt intend to have a participation prize at all they just had to write that up when they saw all the forums abuzz with the peeps assuming there would be.

Agree. Very weird.

I guess all that participated get the "vmk oops" gift for participating.

I'm not complaining either. I'm glad we all at least got something, instead of just the judging flag. I personally was hoping for a pin, as a participation prize, instead of furnish. Especially since this Donald gift would resemble something you would give away as a gift. Oh well.

i really want to know what those prizes look like, the jacket, hat, and boots. I really like that donald present, it is sooo cute, i want one! lol. They are probably worth a sparrow costume or stitch hat though, there goes that idea.

Sure.. everyone makes mistakes. Do they not re-read what they write, and why did it take so long to change it? Adding honorable mentions isn't so honorable if they only get the participation prize in which they will gift again anyways.

Hi everyone!

I must agree with the magority on this matter. I think all the winners deserve congratulations and their rooms were awesome! However, as a "participant" in this event I assumed that everyone who "participated" in the event would be receiving the "participation prizes." I have sent a message describing how upset I am in this matter, and I think that everyone who has been voicing their opinion on the matter should do the same. VMK tends to listen when we all tell them how we feel. I hope VMK will do something to resolve the situation, but until then we just have to cross our mouse ears.

so I will add my opinion here..
This clears up the participation prize issue - Participation apparently does not mean participation. Looks like VMK may need a dictionary, but it is what it is. To the rest of the world, participation means to participate; to take part in, which anyone who entered the contest did.

I am also wondering what we will do with a prize we are supposed to give away. I think this has got to be the biggest "DUH!" moment VMK has ever had

I guess I am just plain feed up lately with the way VMK has been handling things. From the Hula Pin debacle to waiting around in my room for nearly 2 weeks, unable to make ANY credits, just to have my room judged

Granted, I did tell Jegrezo that I knew I would NOT win anything and that was okay because this was my FIRST mass VMK building event. All I really wanted was the purple flag However, she did inform me that they generally give out participation prizes and that just made things even more exciting.

So I read that we get participation prizes and I was like but now, Guess I need to really watch what I ask for

Yes, only Grand Prize and Runners up participated in this event. The rest of us are now technically referred to as, "those of you that didn't win", as per the VMK Gingerbread Contest section of the homepage.
