New Twilight Thread: Forks or La Push? Hmmmmmm....

You know what is sad? People say that the Twilight fans are dying out already:( that the craze is over. What will happen then if that is true? What if people stop caring? I mean harry potter has been out since I was eight so like nine years ago and people are still in love... I wanted that for Twilght too:(

I think it would be weird from Renesmee's point of veiw because like everyone loves Edward so it would be weird coz he would be the dad.

and it's annoying from jacob's view because he doesn't like edward much so no-one would like a whole book about that.

alice would be good to write from.

but bella would still be the best.

I would like a Jacob/Renesmee book. I think that could be cool.

Jacob does like Edward. Did you not read the entire Breaking Dawn book?

I think it would be awful if Stephenie continued the series. She has already said this it's over. So it's over. People should just except that.

Somebody said that fans are already dying out. It's probably because of what a big deal the series has become. The movie kind of sucked. 12 year olds are being crazy obsessive over Rob. It turns off a lot of people. It turned me off.

I still like the books. I still like the characters. But I'm definitely not as big of a fan as I used to be.

One more thing, some people need to realize there ARE other amazing books out there besides Twilight. They should broaden their reading.

ITA with your last statement. If one thing that I'm so happy that the Twilight craze came around is that my friends who hated reading now love it, and are broadening their horizons. It's beautiful thing.

I don't know if I can agree with you totally. While I admit the crazy twelve year olds was way annoying I think the wholefun in liking a series is being able to share that interest with others. Being the only one who feels like screaming at the beginning of the movie would be boring. The fans are what make it special. I dont think that she should stop the series. It is just now getting g really popular and it is getting a lot of people into reading like harry potter did. She managed to write seven books and stephanie can ony write four and a perspective novel? She is letting a lot of people down.

A lot of Harry Potter fans are a little different than Twilight fans though.

Yes, it's widespread, but plenty people are more "in the closet" about it. Not many people (at my school) will pull out a HP book to read, but if you ask them they'd tell you.

so what if we are more blunt about it, that makes us true fans, we arent afraid to hide our love for the series or our dedication to Stephenie's writing, JK is a great author too, and, not trying to be mean or anything, you cant base an entire fan base on what you see around you, i know 3 people who have the whole series of HP in there lockers so they can pick one to read depending on there mood! thats over the top but i cant say all HP fans are crazed girls that read a book or chapter depending on there mood. I know people who wear HP shirts thats not being "in the closet". my dad, for instance, has all the books in American English and Proper/British English for me thats over the top. He has ornaments and book holders, he even has all the collector DVD's i cant say that every HP fan does that either. Now i myself get my book series love/obsession from my dad, so i have all the Twilight books, posters, cd's, for goodness sake i have the ALBUM yes an ALBUM that goes in a RECORD PLAYER and no i dont even HAVE a record player, i have stepheniemeyer.com on my desktop, my phone cover is twilight, i have stickers, pins, bookmarks, i am an obsessed fan girl, i even pre-ordered the DVD that doent come out for two month!!!! there are many others out there like me, for instance alot of girls at my school, my volleyball coach, my best friends. We even have T shirts we wear regularly, and yes people rolled their eyes at us for the first couple of times but then they got used to it, like how the world got used to Harry Potter, i bet there were thousands of people who were saying how bad it was, like many say about twilight, but the realized, it took them a while but they realized, they couldnt do anything about it. I bet there are people out there who still think its the stupidest thing ever, i actually know a few, i read HP(1), i've seen the movies, its good, no its amazingly great, but i have enough guts to admit that. there are people out there that have secret obsessions about either twilight or HP but they are to ashamed to admit it. there are also ppl out there who like it ALOT, maybe even love it, but they dont have obsession passions about it like myself and many others, so you can't base a fan base on what you see and hear about. and disneyworldluvr is right Stephenie would be letting her fans and others down if she didnt finish and that would make the fan base die faster, i can say, only for myself, that i and probably many others will keep reading. and that all i have to say on that matter

I know there's plenty of people who think HP's dumb, I know there's plenty of people who are extremely obsessed with it. It's just as widespread, yes, I was just saying I personally don't know anyone as obsessed with HP and I do know plenty who are obsessed with Twilight.

Nothing against either sides of the fanbase. Of course there are people obsessed, that can happen with pretty much anything in the world.

Basing my opinions off all I know, is just what happens. I don't claim to speak on behalf of the world.
But it kind of sucks that if someones obsessed with HP at my school they get written off as a geek. And if someone's obsessed with Twilight it's encouraged. And if you don't like Twilight- don't get me started.

I go to an all-girls school, though, so perhaps it has to do with that?

yes that has a GREAT deal to do with that, my personal experience(s). it doesnt matter if you like either at my school, it depends who you hang out with, now i'm not saying this coincedingly(spelling?) but, i am an athlete, a popular athlete, social status is the key at my school, many of the twilight fans i talk to, about the book and actors, arent popular, they are anti popular, only because they arent sporty or act weird or, when younger, did something embarrassing or disgusting that dropped them to the unpopular status, OR they were new, knew nothing about the social status until school start, and feel with the unpopulars. some of the nicest ppl and in the unpop, some of the weirdest people to, and some of the scariest, but they dont get judged because, honestly, people dont care what they like, wear, talk about, live, go out with, etc. but i get judged every day, it doesnt matter what 'category' you're in, its the factor of doing something about it, for goodness sake stand up for yourself and others like you, there are lots of people out there with out enough guts to say the things i say. I got made fun of for reading the book, which i like, at first i was like wow maybe i shouldnt be doing this, jeopardizing all i have here, but then i said to them dont judge a fan by the book and dont judge a book by its fan. If someone says something negative to me about twilight i ask "have you read the book(s)" they say no i say " shush up" they say yes and i have there respect, most say no though. who cares about labels when there is nothing you can do about them? since i stand up for myself i have respect for my opinions and decisions, but even if i didnt it wouldnt matter because i dont need approval from anyone but myself, i'm the only one that matters.

I'm not popular.. at all xD
I'm the person everyone expects to like Twilight and it shocks them to hear I don't.
I don't care if anybody knows I like HP, I can't drop further down in social status than I am, anyways.

I've read the first two books though, tried to read the last two, but couldn't get through them.

I'm weird, I'll admit it, I don't have many friends, and pretty much everyone at my school likes Twilight especially popular girls. The friend I have who likes Twilight, and the people I talk to, just laugh when I tell them about my beefs with the book.

Yeah its stupid for someone to be judged by a book but people think I'm exceedingly strange to not be obsessed or even like Twilight; so I don't bring up HP.

if i hadnt been popular as a kid i probably wont be now. All the popular girls are tannish, light brown/blonde hair, while i, porceslian white, dark brown hair, blue eyes am someone who shouldnt be popular, i am smart, witty, sarcastic, A READER!!, blunt, out spoken outgoing, energetic. I talk with everyone! even the goths ... they scare me ... i am nice, catholic, i go to CHURCH! i dont like hollister or a&f, i wear a.e., wetseal, pacsun and aero. i'm the only one with naturally staight hair, im the only one who has her natural hair color, im the only one who ever had HOT PINK highlights, one of the only one who speaks her mind, say things to loud, dances in the hallways, runs backward in P.E., sings in spanish class and on the bus, doesnt watch alot of TV. i'm one of the only ones that has been to disney more than 1nce. im not your average popular kid, thats why i never redeem myself as popular. my best friends are a twilight freak, a crazy hockey player, a popular princess, a 7th grader, a wikid funny chica, and tay-lor(d)! and unlke everyone else, im not pretty, the say i am but my scar makes my face, in my eyes, look deformed. and i dont wear make up. i do have great respect for you though because you dont lie saying you fit in to be popular and those girls shouldnt judge you or anyone else by what you read!!

Ahh gotcha you'd be one of the girls who wouldn't be a total *cough* to me. (And truthfully, in HS, there are only really 6-10 girls who are still like that).

Thanks, I have respect for you being an individual, but I won't lie- I've thought about just telling people I like it. I know enough about the books to say I do xD

But its true, most people don't care I don't like it; they're confused though!

thanks :D i've thought about telling ppl i didnt like it, for like the first day i was getting bs i was like you know what this is getting old, but peope got nicer, i dont make funn of them they dont my fun of me or talk about me behind my back, well atleast not bad stuff, of what i've heard. i'm one of the only ones who doesnt judge, i hated being judged so i dont judge, i used to in 5th grade, when we were changing schools and everything was crazy and different, i was reading the clique, and my friends wanted to be like them so they judged and i got into the 'judging' but now it makes me fell utterly guilty, if i lie it makes me feel like i did something horribly wrong.

It's not about not 'managing' to write more books. Sure, Stephenie could write more and definitely get a TON of money out of it. But I'm hoping she's better than that.

Dragging out the series would be worse than anything. Especially when she's firmly told everyone that the plot is O.V.E.R. People need to accept that. The storyline is done, I don't believe there's anything more to say.

If Stephenie kept writing about Bella & Edward, it would be because of the money. And I'm not sure I would keep reading. She would lose a lot of her fans.

Since you're comparing JK & Stephenie, JK did let a lot of people down. A huge amount of her fans were sad to hear the series was ending. But seriously, writing about Harry and his completely happy and non-problematic life would be a snore. As would reading about Bella/Edward/Renessmee in serenity.

Think about it this way. Let the characters have a happy ending.
