soontobewed- I hope that the clomid works for you!

wdwaurora- how many IVF cycles did you have to do to get your BFP? Since we are dealing MFI, I'm hoping it takes just one, but I know that's not a guarantee. I am ready if it takes more then one cycle.

soontobewed ~ That's great news. I hope that the clomid works for you and the process is SHORT!

WDWAurora (Courtney) ~ Glad you are doing well and thank you for offer to answer questions! There is more fear with unanswered questions!

D&DDis ~ How's the family? Hope everyone is recovering well.:)

Allison ~ How goes it with you?

I'm going to my gynie today at 3PM. Gonna find out my next steps and I want to be proactive instead of waiting. It's because I've been reading/listening to all of you that I will be able to go in with some great questions and hopefully I will get some answers / action that will get me to the next level. ;)

Take care ladies and have a magical day!

Hi ladies. Has anyone else used the CBEFM and had a problem with it having a LOT of high fertility days?

The first time I used this, On day 7 it started saying high fertility and kept on until it quit asking me to POAS at day 26, and never showed me ovulating (I did later in the cycle as I got pg then miscarried)

After my MC, I used it and it worked like normal: low-then high-then ovulate-etc.

This cycle, it is showing high starting on day 7 again. I am now on day 15 and haven't ovulated (which I expect, aside from a couple of wonky cycles I am usualy 40-42 days so prob. ovulate on day 26-28) but it is still high. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Or could it be the sign of a problem with me?

Thanks and best wishes to everyone! Soontobewed, glad you are getting on the right track!

mickeyandminniemouse-We were very fortunate that IVF worked for us on the first try. Will they use ICSI? I know that we were told that would help with male factor, although we don't have any known problems with either of us. The ICSI definitely worked, though. We had 7 follicles retrieved, and 6 had fertilized the next day. Not bad!

Morning. . .

So I went to the dr yesterday and as we talked and she wrote out my referral to an RE. You see before I met my husband I was with a man (I use that term loosely) for 7 years. The last 2 years of our relationship I was not on BCP. As you all can probably discern nothing ever happend. When i discussed this with my Dr. she said it was becasue he was the wrong person, blah blah it was a blessing I never got pg (yes this is true!) and we desided to see how things went. Well as you all know, been trying, unsuccessfuly since December so time to change tactics! She said yesterday that I have waited long enough and being 38, diabetic and thyroid (most diabetic women have a thyroid issue) just adds to everything. She also said sometime plain sex is just not enough and technology needs to help!;) She was very cool about it and confident that we would find a way through this. She told me to call my insurance this am to make sure that the Dr's were on my plan. So, I'm joining the RE club ladies! Now let's go make some babies!!!! :cheer2:

OK that's about all the rah rah i can muster. Yes, I'm glad I have a plan but just wish I didn't need one.:upsidedow

LOL E! That's more rah rah than I've had lately!! I know what you mean about having a plan but wishing you didn't need one! I hope I feel as positive as you seem to be after my re appt tuesday!! My bff is due tomorrow so that has had me a bit down.

Yes, we have to do ICSI. If you don't mind me asking how many embryos did you put back in, and what is your age? I'm 35, and I have a feeling they will want to put back 2, and I am fearful of having twins. Being 4'11" tall, I'm so afraid I can't carry 2 babies, or something will happen. It's just this fear I have.

Hey there! I was on this thread a while back and I still read here to see whats going on! Anyway, saw your post and wanted to tell you we did
IVF (with egg donor) and I now have twins that will be two in three weeks! I am 4'11 and carried the babies to 33 weeks, 5 days. Just wanted to hopefully ease your mind, if you do the ICSI and end up preg w/ twins, you will be ok and the babies will be okay too!! :)

Awww, they are cute! Thanks for easing my mind. How were you able to breath with two in your belly, LOL.
It's funny, every since we had the VR and started TTC, I've been drawn to twin dicussion boards even though it's not something I want. now here we are down the road to IVF, where it's possible. I keep having this funny feeling that's what is going to happen. LOL. We shall see I guess. Even my SIL said this past summer, we were going to have twins, again before we even know we would have IVF. And last Jan. when I took DS to WDW, you know those stuffed baby Disney characters they have, I had to by 2 for some reason. Again, I guess time will tell.

Yeah, that pic is old..they will be two on Nov 11. Good luck with everything, I always check here for updates!

We had 2 transfer-only one made it. I was sure for a long time we were going to end up with twins. There are age guidelines-not hard and fast rules, but most places use them. I believe my category went through 33, and it was 1-2. You're probably in the 2-3 range. The day of my transfer, they came over and went over how many they were going to transfer before I went in. I was worried they would only want to do one. I think that would have worked, because I had one great perfect embryo and one a little small (too small, really) but otherwise perfect.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to do more or less than 2 (unless I had several fail). Twins don't scare me, but I've got about 7in on you. Oh, and I'm 27 (26 when the cycle started...ok, only for 1 day, but let me claim a little youth-I still say 25 when people ask).

Update!

So i called the BCBS lady to make sure the RE's i'm being sent to are on my "covered" list. They are thank God! I was a blubbering idiot on the phone though the words just couldn't come out without me bursting into tears. :sad1: Again very happy to have a plan and very thankful that someone will be able to make things clear for us no matter what the result is. (Um goes without saying that I want the result to be "Hey a little technology and we'll get this all worked out!)

So I called and my first RE appointment is November 10th at 9 AM. Oh crap, ok dumb question time, do I have to have another gynie exam while there? I just thought of something and it's quite possible that it could be that time of the month or just ending.

Allison ~ Stay strong sister! I'm sending big hugs ! YOU will get through this! Remember soon you will have your own plan!

minnieandmickeymouse ~ Thanks for the congrats! Good luck with your IVF! That's funny about the twins! Hey you never know but that would be incredible right?

E, my first RE appt is just a consult. Just call the RE office to find out how they do the first appt. I'm actually doing my annual with my OB/GYN that did all of my IUIs the morning of my RE appt. What a fun day for me!! ;)

I'm trying to stay strong, but it just gets harder and harder!

Courtney...I'm so glad things are going well for you!!

Hi everyone. I was surprised, but my RE did a complete exam at the first appointment. I was expecting to just talk, but he wanted to take a look around.

Chloe...did your RE do any tests? Did the RE do a pelvic exam?? I'm pretty sure they told me my first visit will be a consult. I"m already having my annual done the morning of my RE visit, I'd rather not have a round two in the afternoon!! I hope I am remembering correctly!

Allison ~ Ugg I totally agree! Going through twice in one day would be more then a little uncomfortable. I'm going to take your advice though and give a call to double check what to expect.:confused3

I'm sorry it's getting harder. A friend of mine just had her first baby too and although I was so happy for her, I had a pity party for myself! ;) Hey and you know what I'm not sorry! Again, the lucky part for all of us going to these RE appointments is that we are acknowledging that we need to take a next step and that next step will bring us some answers hopefully! The not knowing, is what gets me! Again, to you sister! We're here for you!

OK back to work! I'll visit later!

I went to the RE and it was just some questions and a breast exam and that was it. I had just had 6 Female exams in the past 3 months for all of the bleeding. So I would call. Maybe your RE can do the Yearly exam and save you from your OBGYN?

I have a question or 2????

The RE started the Progesterone yesterday. Anyone have experience with it? Should AF start when I stop it in 10 days? Any side effects I should worry about?

How did you chart all of your meds to make sure you called for the Ultrasounds on time? I was think about buying a pocket day planner just for this?

I'll just keep my OB/GYN appt. I know my OB's exam will be covered. NOt sure about the RE so I don't want to risk it!!

Are you taking the progesterone to start AF? Or after O? I took progesterone after O. I was supposed to take it until I got a BFN. AF always started while I was still taking the progesterone. I was lucky and really never had any side effects. I only took one pill before bed, so I probably slept through any side effects.

I always did Clomid CD 5-9. My first ultrasound was always scheduled around CD12, then we did them every other day until I had mature enough follicles to do my IUI. You aren't doing IUI, right? Just trying to get the timing I assume and to check for overstim?

I don't know if you have an iphone, but if you do, there are several apps to keep track of your cycle. I LOVE it because I always have it with me for all appts!!

Hey, are you guys taking husbands to the RE with you?

I'm taking mine to my first appt but I have no idea what to expect. I'm hoping it's just a consult and not a real exam!
