New to the dis board and getting cold feet.

Welcome & Don't Worry....

I read the boards here before buying DVC & honestly, if I had listened to the majority here, I most likely would have stuck with a small BWV contract & would have never boughten SSR.

We're thrilled with our purchase & realize that the only opinion that matters about the resorts is our own.....

So, stay where you want, have a wonderful time & make the most out of your DVC!

I want to thank everyone again. All of your replys have been helpful. Being new to this you have all made me feel like I have family out there looking out for us. I guess we all have one or two "family" members that like to rain on our parade. Which location has the best easy access to the resorts (beside the bus)?

Just to put transportation times in context. WDW is about the size of Manhattan. Disney does a terrific job at moving people from site to site on a footprint that large. Besides its a vacation and the transportation is all part of the show :)

Enjoy your OKW and Welcome Home Neighbor :thumbsup2

The only resorts that are not a bus or boat ride to a park are BWV or BCV. These resorts are within walking distance to Epcot. Even then, this in only 1 of the 4 parks, so IMO this is not that big of a perk. To me, going from a resort to a park will pretty much involve a bus or a boat ride, so it really does not matter very much which resort you use to board the bus.

Pick a resort that appeals to you. For the most part, they are all a bus/boat ride from the parks.

My ownership is at HH and I have never been there, and will never go. I stay at the BW or WL almost every time. I have never had a problem getting a room at other than my home resort. I went for the price per point when I bought mine and have never been disappointed. I live in FL and go about 4-5 times a year.

We love OKW for the size of the units, atmosphere, and theme of the resort, and the friendliness of the staff and "vacation home" feel of the place. If, however, you are young enough to benefit from the extra 12 years, SSR might be a better idea.

I agree with Diane. OKW is a beautiful resort and I absolutely love it, but in my early 20s it didn't make sense for me to buy in there. I went with the 12 extra years at SSR which is also an amazing resort. You can't go wrong either way

The extra years at SSR may be great for young families. But I am in my late 40's & DH is late 50's. I don't think we would be around long enough to take advantage of the extra time - as for our kids - they will be in their 50's and hopefully able to buy the next generation of DVC. It's taken me a long time to convince my husband. I was looking at DVC pre-children. I guess better late than never.
