I've not used Southwest's services before but both of my sisters have. We are going in November and I'm starting to get nervous with how their system works. Just signed up for the Rapid Rewards. OK so my questions are:

1. Do they generally come out with the dates at a certain time? Say at 7:00am they release new flight dates or is it just whenever, maybe 10am maybe 10pm? I mean if it's just whenever I can hang around their site all day and get nothing done! My DH already thinks I'm nuts for being glued to the computer for all things Disney!

2. I think I vaguely remember someone talking about booking with your Rapid Rewards numbers that you have to book your ticket w/ you number and then go back out and back in and book you DH's ticket with his number? I tried doing a search, here on the Dis, but I get no results to what I'm looking for. Perhaps I only think I remember reading this but if you have any insight and a detailed way of explaining how to do this, it would be much appreciated.

3. I linked my credit card to the Rapid Rewards number, will I still have to enter my credit card information or will my Rapid Rewards number link it for me. Kind of like a one-click shopping?

Thanks in Advance for any info. regarding this situation.

I sincerely appreciate it.

When you make your reservation there is a spot to type in each passengers RR number. Really no reason to log out and then log back in unless you want the iteniary history to be complete for each pax. Waste of time.

Not sure, have your credit card handy just in case.

Definately download their DING program if you haven't already. They have great deals that you can only get through the DING messages they send.

Unless you are going Thanksgiving week or plan to fly on one of the holidays, I wouldn't worry TOO much about getting a ressie as soon as they are posted. We've never had a problem getting a flight for the time we wanted. Also, sometimes they post discounted rates after the initial dates/rates come out.

If I may jump in....If your booked and a "ding" is offer cheaper can you get a credit??

I've downloaded Ding. We are going down on Thanksgiving Day. I guess it's the waiting that's driving me crazy. We've got the rooms booked, the car reserved and now we're just waiting on the flights. Oh well, it's not like anyone else is taking the seats because they aren't open to anybody at this point. We'd like to go down as early as possible on Thanksgiving day and as late as possible on the following Saturday.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer my questions. I sincerely appreciate it!

Check this Thursday morning. I wouldn't count on deeply discounted seats.

Yes,. you can but you have to cancel the original reservation and make a new one. When I tried to call customer service to see if they could just give me the lower rate a few months ago. But they were unable to get the "ding" fare on their computers. The CSR told me to cancel the original and rebook using the Ding online. I had no problem doing that and I was able to apply the credit to the Ding right away.

As some one else mentioned, you have a year to use the remaining credit. (I'm almost positive, it's a year from the original purchase date)
