We have just purchased a Class C Motorhome. We have reservations for Wilderness Lodge 2nd week in December. I was thinking instead of our room at the Wilderness Lodge it would be fun to take the motorhome and stay at the campground plus it would save a lot of money.
Is it hard to get around once you are there???? How is Disney's transportation from FW?
I am so excited and it seems a shame to have it and not go down with it.
Thanks for all your help. Any advice appreciated.
This is our first time traveling this way.

I presume you mean you have reservations at FW, not WL.

Transportation from FW ranges from good to adequate. I am not a bus rider, but my wife is. She doesn't mind the transfers sometimes necessary to get to DTD or a park. On the other hand, I think the launch to MK is cool, and you can get to Epcot and MGM using the launch, monorail (and another launch in the case of MGM) which I also think is cool and those transfers don't bother me.

I meant that we currently have reservations at the Wilderness Lodge and we have just recently purchased an RV and I am thinking of changing them to FW.
Sounds like it might not be too difficult to get around.

No, not too difficult once you get used to it. You might want to start trying for FW reservations, however, since Christmas time is popular and usually booked pretty far in advance.

Thanks. I have checked online and they still seem to be available. I will call them when I am sure about the change. I am really excited about RVing.
Sorry for the confusion about my reservations. I wasn't very clear.

After staying in FW three times, I for one would heartily recommend that you take your class-c butt down in your own RV. The camp is capital 'F' Fantastic.

Besides, Wilderness Lodge won't let you hang dumb a** patio lights shaped like chili peppers outside your door! ;-)

We have already switched our reservations and are taking the RV down. Can't wait.
We actually went on our first camping trip this weekend and it was awesome. Had a great time. The dog loved it too!

If you can take bikes down, I would strongly suggest it, as it makes it a lot easier to travel around the campground and to get to the buses and boat. You will love the campground it is terrific, and the transportation is good especially to the Magic Kingdom.

We do plan on taking our bikes down. Do they have bike racks where you can leave them where you board the bus or boat?
Thanks. I am so excited about this trip! :goodvibes

There are bike racks at the Marina, at Trail's End, at the Settlement Depot, at the Settlement Trading post, at the Outpost, at the pool, and at the Meadows Trading Post.

We were at Fw in February and took our bikes and got lights for them before we left. It was a good thing because it does get dark earlier and if you get back after dark it is very difficult to see and to be seen. The lights we got had rechargable batteries. Patsy :wave2:

Besides headlights for our bikes, we also have tail lights. We puchased them at Walmart, I believe. They are battery operated and very bright, with a convenient on/off switch and are installed just below the seat. I didn't want to rely on reflectors and I'm very pleased with our tail lights. I know we can be seen very easily at night.

Thanks. I have them for mine but will need to get them for dh.
I am so excited. I can hardly wait til December!!!!!!
