new to renting points

My husband and I have been members since 02, but this is the first time we've tried to rent out our points. Just wondering how the payment process works. Is it typical to split the cost into two payments or pay in full at time of booking the res.

hi dianne and neil. i've already emailed you re: transfer of points (via the rent/trade board), but since you asked about payment - i've never gotten points from anyone before, but as a dvc owner, i would pay up front before the points are transferred into my account. i spoke to member services a few minutes ago. they stated that transfered points will retain their original use year and home location. i called them twice a few minutes apart, spoke to two different cm's and received the same response. not saying that means much. terry
 
We usually have a 50% deposit due at booking then the final 50% at 4 months prior to travel and we have a contract drawn up that we fax to the people and have them sign and fax back.
