I saw a book at the gift shop at CBR and it was like $30??!!! What guidebook to pins do you like?

The Tomart books are fairly reasonable. However, there is a fair amount of disagreement on some of the values he shows. Also, it only has about 15% of the Disney pins.

One of your best sources for Disney pin information is www.pinpics.com This is a database currently showing over 36,000 items, primarily Disney pins, button and pin accessories as well as Olympic pins. You can browse and search.

Unlike Tomart, which only has a name, picture and value range, Pinpics gives name description, source, type of pin, SKU and original price (if known) and a better photo. To get an idea of value, you can see for each pin how many people are looking for it as well as how many people have extras to trade. No selling is allowed, but it is set up to allow you do do trading by mail.

Another great thing about pin pics is the ability to search. If you are only interested in pins with pluto on it, just type in pluto and all the pins with him show up rather than having to look at all 30,000+ pins. Can't do that with the Tomart guide. Also, it's out of date even before it's published. This is not a slam on Tomart, because it is good, but the fluidity of this hobby changes daily.
