New to Pin Collecting....2 Questions~

Well, its safe to say that I am now a newly addicted pin collector!! After our last trip, I started collecting Tinkerbells and WD Princessess. Geeez this stuff is addicting. I have a few questions, if someone would be so kind as to answer.

Where do you identify the numbers that are assigned to each pin as I see people looking for certain pins. I looked on the back, NO NUMBERS?? Is there a code book or something?

My husband just recently, acquired the Tinkerbell and Walt Pin for me from the Princess Ball. This pin has the blue border and I heard it 1000 of them were recently distributed to the people that had the orginal 1000 pins with the black border. Apparently, these first black bordered pins were sub quality? How in heavens name did Disney know who had the orginal 1000 black ones????

Go to pinpics.com and become amazed at the number of Disney pins. Each pin has a number from when it was put inot their data base, not by a number on the pin itself. I thought the same thing in the beginning. The first time I visited the site, I couldn't believe how many pins existed. And yes, it is very addicting.

I think folks that attended the event had to sign up so by that they had the address of who to send the new pins to.

Mario....Thanks so much, cant wait to stop by pinpics and get the scoop, you info helps to clue in this disney fantatic!! You know, I was a Disney freak BEFORE I got into the pin thing, dont know why I thought collecting pins would be any different for me..

Welcome to our world. Hope to see you some time. BTW, when in WDW there is an "official" pin trading meeting every Friday night at the Contemporary Hotel 4th floor, and an "unofficial" pin trading meeting every Saturday night at the Poly lobby. Just remember the main rule.....Have fun!
